I absolutely love looking at the newest cosmetic items and makeup styles that come out periodically. From bold new color palates to groundbreaking new formulas, I find all the different products completely fascinating. For the most part, looking is all that I do. But once in a while, a cosmetic is introduced that sounds so fantastic I know that I just have to try it for myself. Jenulence Mineral Makeup is exactly the kind of revolutionary product that I can’t resist.

I was thrilled when I was given a chance to review this amazing makeup.
I received the Mineral Foundation/Concealer, Mineral Eye Shadow, Shimmering Body Powder and Plumping DMAE Chocolate Lip Balm for review. Since the mineral makeup is in a loose powder form, it comes in beautiful and functional sifter jars for easy dispensing. Because of the all-natural ingredients in these cosmetics, they are said to be the perfect choice for sensitive or acne-prone skin like mine.
I chose Light Beige Mineral Foundation/Concealer because I wasn’t sure enough about my skin tone to feel confident about choosing a color designed for cool or warm skin. Fortunately, Jenulence has a variety of neutral colors as well as more specialized tones. Light Beige was the perfect choice for my winter-pale skin.
The foundation/concealer is designed to be a two-in-one product to both cover blemishes and even skin tone. I found that I could get the perfect amount by flipping the sifter jar over, tapping the bottom of the jar and then unscrewing the lid. One light tap shook just enough powder into the lid for me to complete my whole face. I used the tip of my finger to pick up a tiny amount of powder and dab it onto my blemishes. The powder looked quite pale on my skin at first, but when I blended it a bit with my fingertip, it covered up the redness of my blemishes perfectly and looked completely natural. After I had finished concealing my blemishes, I used a large powder brush to pick up the rest of the Mineral Foundation/Concealer that was left in the lid and lightly dust it over my face.
With that single application, my skin was radiant and even-toned for the entire day. Since first using it, I haven’t left the house without putting it on. I love how light and natural it feels on my skin, and with an estimated SPF-25, it’s a great choice for warmer weather. On the worst blemishes, I sometimes need to apply another tiny dot of powder in the late afternoon or early evening to keep my face looking flawless, but for most breakouts my single application in the morning provides perfect coverage for the entire day.
Jenulence eye shadows come in matte, shimmer and sparkle finishes. I chose the White Pearl Shimmer eye shadow to review. A shimmering white shadow is a great way to make eyes look brighter and works wonders for disguising fatigue. Since tapping the bottom of the container had given me the right amount of cosmetic previously, I used the same technique for the eye shadow. Sure enough, the amount that fell into the lid was perfect.
I used a soft-bristled eye shadow brush to apply the powder to my eyelids. The shimmering finish looked fantastic and brought out my eyes while still looking light and natural enough for daytime wear. After applying the shadow to my lids, I used the brush to dust just a hint of powder under my eyebrows to add a bit of shine without adding any visible color. The finished look was ideal and I loved how quick and easy the application had been.
Because of the loose powder composition of the eye shadow, any granules that fell underneath my eyes were easy to brush away. Unlike the heavy, greasy and easily smeared white eye shadow I had used in the past, the Mineral Eye Shadow felt completely natural and lasted all day without smearing. Since I am often up three times a night with my baby and since both of my boys tend to wake me at six in the morning, I am thrilled to have found such a wonderful white eye shadow that helps me look my best even when I’m exhausted.
Jenulence body shimmering powder comes in either a gold or silver color. Because I find that gold looks more natural, I chose the Gold Sparkle Body Shimmering Powder. This powder adds a wonderful sparkle to the neck, shoulders and décolletage for any look that needs a little extra pizazz. I used a large powder brush to dust it lightly over the exposed skin that I wanted to highlight. I was happy to see that the shimmering powder left a nice subtle gleam with no garish glitter effect. One of the beautiful things about this powder is that it isn’t just for the body. It also works fantastically well dusted into hair to make that perfect hairstyle stand out even more.
The final product I was given to test was the Plumping DMAE Chocolate Lip Balm. This lip balm is absolutely luscious and has enough shine to double as a lip-gloss. I loved the sweet chocolate scent and the smooth and easy application. With delicious ingredients like sweet almond oil, cocoa butter and beeswax, this balm is full of nutrients designed to protect and nourish my lips. The soft shine that the balm gave my lips added the perfect final touch to my makeup look.
