When it comes to eco-friendly products, there are some items I am always happy to test out. I love clothing made out of earth-conscious fabrics. I adore organic food products. But my absolute favorite eco-products are green household cleaners. I am always looking for new products to add to my cleaning regime, so I was delighted to learn about Nature Clean, an absolutely amazing company that has been providing safe and healthy cleaning products for families since 1963.
Nature Clean’s philosophy is simple. The products that the company provides are created to be the safest possible choice for both the individual and the earth. Nature Clean adheres to this principle by disclosing every single ingredient on every product they make. Labels do not use blanket terms such as “fragrances” or “dyes.” Every component of the cleaning product, even the ones that comprise less than 1% of the formula, are listed with their proper scientific name so that consumers always know exactly what they are purchasing. I loved the ethics of the Nature Clean company, and I was overjoyed when I was given a chance to test some of their amazing products for myself.
I received the Unscented Laundry Liquid, the Oxy Stain Remover, the Multi-Surface Cleaner and Degreaser and the Mandarin and Grapefruit Dishwashing Liquid for review. I couldn’t wait to see if the products were as effective as they were eco-conscious!
The first product I tested was the Mandarin and Grapefruit Dishwashing Liquid. I loved the light citrus scent of the dish soap, and I was happy to see that it was obtained with essential oils instead of synthetic fragrance. The liquid was definitely not as sudsy as traditional dish soap, but even with the lack of bubbles it provided great cleaning power and left dishes spotless. I was able to fill the sink with dishes twice and have them all come out perfectly clean before I noticed that the grease-fighting power of the soap was starting to reach its limit.
Considering how much I had depended on that sink full of bubbles in the past, I was blown away by how well this non-sudsing formula worked. I later learned that the dish soap provided its cleaning power without excessive bubbling because it was formulated without the commonly used sudsing agent and suspected carcinogen SLES. I couldn’t have been happier to say goodbye to the suds of traditional soaps after I discovered what was creating them!
The next products that I used were the Unscented Laundry Liquid and the Oxy Stain Remover. I love the smell of fresh clean clothing, so I really appreciated the fact that the laundry liquid was unscented. I also found that I needed very little liquid to get my clothing clean. I filled the cap of the liquid about ¼ full for each load of clothing that I washed, and every load came out looking and smelling great. I did pretreat tough stains before washing as usual, and with just that bit of care I achieved great results with the Unscented Laundry Liquid. I have been using the liquid for all of my laundry (including Benjamin’s cloth diapers) for almost four weeks now and I still have approximately half of the 1.8L bottle left!
The Oxy Stain Remover was the perfect compliment to the laundry liquid, and I was overjoyed to finally have an alternative to chlorine bleach. I have hated bleach since my days as a waitress when I was forced to add it to every bucket of wash water that I used. I bought a bottle at my husband’s insistence and used it only when he maintained that regularly used items such as towels were starting to smell of mildew. Even then, I double rinsed the load of laundry to try to eliminate every trace of the lingering chemical scent.
Imagine my joy when I learned that the Oxy Stain Remover was a completely chlorine-free bleach alternative that would keep white clothing looking great and act as a color-safe laundry booster as well! When I added the stain remover to a load of clothing, I noticed that it also helped remove stubborn odors. Unlike chlorine bleach, which damages the waterproof layer of diaper covers, Oxy Stain Remover is even gentle enough to be added to a load of cloth diapers!
In addition to acting as an unbelievable bleach alternative and laundry booster, Oxy Stain Remover can be used for hand washing clothing, for removing laundry stains and for removing carpet stains as well. I was devastated when I got tomato sauce stains on a brand new white tank top a few days ago. Fortunately, I remembered the Oxy Stain Remover. I mixed up a stain-fighting solution as directed on the instructions, sprayed it onto the stains and blotted until the sauce was gone. My shirt looks like new again, and I couldn’t be happier!
The final product I used was the Multi-Surface Cleaner and Degreaser. This all-natural cleaning spray is formulated with natural cleaning agents and essential oils. I sprayed it on the stove after cooking a huge bacon and eggs breakfast on the weekend that had left splatters of bacon grease everywhere. A few wipes with a sponge and the stove looked great again. The cleaner was also great at breaking up dried-on stains so that they could be quickly wiped away. I like to spray the cleaner on a spill, leave it to soak in for a few minutes and then return to effortlessly wipe the mess away.
I was so pleased to see that the Nature Clean products were so effective. I love using earth-friendly cleaning solutions, but I still need my cleaners to get the job done. Nature Clean products tackled my everyday tasks with ease and let me feel good about doing the dishes and washing the clothes. I couldn’t be happier to have added these safe and healthy eco-friendly products to my household, and I am already looking at purchasing some of the great new eco refill bag-in-a-box options for the laundry liquid and dish soap. Today, every cleaning job can be eco-friendly, thanks to Nature Clean!
