When it comes to cleaning, there are some brands that have earned enormous recognition for their superior cleaning power. Unfortunately, many of those same brands also contain ingredients that are derived from petroleum and other non-renewable resources, making them a dubious choice for the environment. So I am always excited when a notable brand recognizes the need for change by introducing eco-friendly options.
The makers of Clorox, a brand that has earned the trust of millions over the years, did just that by creating Green Works™, a line of plant-based, biodegradable cleaners that still offer the unparalleled performance the brand is known for. I was recently given the chance to review two of the Green Works™ products for myself, and I couldn’t wait to test them out.
I received the Green Works™ Naturally Derived Dishwashing Liquid and the Green Works™ Naturally Derived Glass & Surface Cleaner for review. Both products are biodegradable and have been recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency for safer chemistry. I was happy to see that the surfactants and solvents in the cleaners were derived from renewable sources such as corn and coconut. I was also excited by the use of essential oils to both increase cleaning power and provide fresh fragrances.
The first product I tested was the dishwashing liquid. I loved the fresh, light scent of the liquid, which foamed up wonderfully with just a small amount. I was glad to see that the formula was free of phosphorous and bleach. I started washing, and after finishing the stack of dishes, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the long-lasting grease-cutting ability of the Green Works™ dishwashing liquid. I had been able to wash every dish, including my greasy pots and pans, without changing the water or adding more product!
The dishwashing liquid had definitely delivered the power I expected from a product from the Clorox family, so I was eager to test the performance of the Green Works™ glass cleaner as well. This ammonia-free cleaner has a great lemon scent that was such a nice change of pace from the harsh scent of a conventional glass cleaner. It easily cut through the grease and grime created by two sticky-fingered children to leave my windows, television and computer monitor spotless and streak-free.
Green Works™ also offers naturally derived all-purpose cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, bathroom cleaner, cleaning wipes and laundry detergent. All of the Green Works™ products are biodegradable, non-allergenic and made without animal testing. With a suggested retail price of about $3.49 each, they are also the perfect affordable choice.
I definitely appreciated the effectiveness of the Green Works™ products, and the fact that they were made with natural, renewable ingredients was a great bonus. If you demand the absolute best performance from your cleaning products, Green Works™ cleaners are a great way to make your cleaning routine a little more earth-friendly without sacrificing any of the effectiveness. Why not check them out for yourself?
