With my son starting pre-kindergarten in the next few weeks, I am busily preparing for the upcoming school year. The program itself provides all materials, so I don’t yet have the fun of shopping for school supplies. I do, however, get to ready my son for school by making sure that his wardrobe is up-to-date and that he has lots of great-looking outfits to wear.
With the huge quantities of children’s clothing available, finding something truly original can be hard. Or so I thought until I found Mouth Man, a unique company that creates amazing animated hoodies. I was thrilled when I was given a chance to review one of their hoodies for myself.
I chose the T-Rex hoodie to review. Zackary fell right between the 4T and the 6 measurements on the company’s size chart, so I decided to err on the side of caution and order the children’s size 6. I loved the red and orange color of the hoodie, and the tyrannosaurus printed on the front and back stood out so well against the bright background. Zackary couldn’t wait to put on his new “dinosaur shirt,” so I pulled it over his head right away.
The bright shirt looked so good with his dark complexion, and I was happy to see that the material was a light recycled 100% polyester sport fabric rather than the heavier sweatshirt-style material that is used for most hoodies. The lighter fabric meant that Zackary could wear the hoodie year-round, and from his energetic reaction to the shirt, I had no doubt that he would be happy about that!
The Mouth Man hoodie looked great on its own, but the real thrill came when I showed Zackary how he could wrap his arms around his body to make the tyrannosaurus roar. We stood in front of our full-length mirror as I demonstrated how the dinosaur appeared to turn and open his mouth with Zackary’s movements. The sleeves were a little long, but the roaring face of the tyrannosaurus still lined up perfectly when Zackary wrapped his arms around himself.
The first few times that Zackary “made the dinosaur roar,” I helped him to line up his arms properly. But he quickly caught on and was soon able to flawlessly get the most out of his Mouth Man hoodie.
The shirt I received wasn’t printed with washing instructions, so I erred on the side of caution by washing the shirt in warm water and hanging it to dry. Even with repeated washings, the vibrant colors that help to make these shirts so appealing are still just as bold as they were when the shirt was new.
