Life Choices Foods-Review and Giveaway

There are times when convenience food is an absolute necessity to my family, but there is no question that the nutritional value of most convenience food is pretty questionable. Since the products are generally cheap and the meals are designed to last for a long time, they usually feature ingredients like refined flour, heavy oils and preservatives.

So I was intrigued when I learned about Life Choices Foods. This amazing Canadian company offers exactly what so many parents have been wishing for; convenience food that kids will love and that is as nutritious as it is delicious. I received a gift certificate to test out one of the Life Choices Foods products and I was thrilled.

I had a bit of trouble finding the products initially as Regina, the closest city to me, only had two places listed as carrying Life Choices Foods products. But fortunately, I noticed that many other provinces listed Loblaws as a distributor. I decided to check my local Real Canadian Superstore, the western Loblaws, and was delighted when I found the products in the natural health section.

I decided to try out the Chicken Nuggets since both of my boys love them. I noticed at once that the chicken used for the nuggets was vegetable grain-fed, raised without animal by-products and raised without antibiotics. I also loved the idea of the multi-grain coating, which contained delicious whole grains like oats and flax.

I made the nuggets for my boys that night for supper and they were both huge fans of the Life Choices Foods chicken. “These are delicious, Mom!” Zackary exclaimed at one point. When he had finished his serving, he immediately requested more. And when his father nibbled at a few nuggets as well, Zackary reprimanded him at once. “Those are for me!” he said forcefully. “You’re not allowed to eat them all!”

Both boys ate more than they do when I serve them standard store-bought nuggets and Zackary was especially delighted with his supper. I was blown away by how kid-friendly the Life Choices Foods chicken had been.
