There’s nothing more relaxing at the end of the day than sitting down with your family for dinner. It’s not just about the food. The communication, the togetherness and the bonding are all important parts of the dinner table experience. But in between the work, school, errands and children’s activities that fill our lives nowadays, it’s no wonder that fewer and fewer families are finding time to sit down at the table together for dinner.
M&M Meat Shops wants to encourage families to sit down together a little more with its seventh annual National Family Dinner Night this Thursday, September 15, 2011. Participating is easy. Just visit www.nationalfamilydinnernight.com and pledge to sit down to dinner with your family this Thursday. For every family that takes the pledge, M&M Meat Shops will donate $1 to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada to a maximum of $100,000!
And thanks to M&M Meat Shops, sitting down for a meal together doesn’t have to be a hassle! I was lucky enough to receive a $50 gift card to purchase our family’s special dinner for National Family Dinner Night and I was blown away by the selection when we went into the store to pick out our meal. From temping $7 entrees like Shepherd’s Pie and Cheese & Spinach Cannelloni to decadent gourmet dishes like Swiss and Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breasts, there were so many quick and delicious choices! After plenty of deliberation, I decided to try the Swiss and Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breasts with Mashed Potatoes and Bean & Carrot Medley. I also couldn’t resist trying out the Cheese & Spinach Cannelloni!
I loved that everything at M&M Meat Shops went from the freezer to the table so quickly. The chicken breasts only required half an hour in the oven to be restaurant perfect, and the mashed potatoes, which were made with real, frozen russet potatoes took only minutes to prepare!
We tested out the Cheese & Spinach Cannelloni for our Sunday supper and it was positively scrumptious! I loved that I could simply pop the frozen dish into the oven and then pull out a tasty, hearty meal an hour later. The entire family enjoyed the stuffed pasta and I will definitely be making sure that we have more of these in the freezer for those busier weeknights.
For those for whom dessert is the fifth food group, M&M Meat Shops has some positively scrumptious choices to finish off your meal. I managed to resist delicacies like Macaroon Madness Bars and Tiger Brownies, but just barely! I couldn’t resist indulging in four Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bars though, and they were the perfect dessert to finish off our meal!
To celebrate the seventh annual National Family Dinner Night, M&M Meat Shops is offering one of my readers a $50 gift card to help them enjoy a hassle-free family dinner of their own! And believe me when I tell you, your dinner is going to be delicious!
