With three males in the house, function usually comes before style on most things. So I love indulging my inner fashionista a bit with the best and most stylish children’s products whenever I get the chance. However, my boys’ safety is the most important thing in the world to me so as much as I love cute strollers, car seats and booster seats, I’ll always choose products with great safety features above all others.
Thankfully, with BRITAX, I don’t have to sacrifice one for the other! The company that prides itself on offering the absolute safest car seats, booster seats and strollers on the market also prides itself on giving moms products that combine safety and style perfectly! I reviewed the BRITAX B-Scene stroller last spring and over a year later I still love it as much as I did when I first received it. So I was delighted when I got the chance to review the BRITAX Parkway SGL Booster Seat recently.
This booster seat takes safety for older children to a whole different level. It’s not just designed to raise kids up to an appropriate height so that their seatbelts fit properly. It offers a plethora of other safety features to ensure that children big enough to use the car’s seatbelt system are as secure as they can possibly be.
My personal favourite feature was the True Side Impact Protection. Not only does it provide important additional protection to my son’s head in the event of a side-impact crash, it also provides maximum comfort thanks to the extra cushioning on the sides. I appreciated knowing that if we were every involved in a side-impact crash, the seat would protect my son’s head, keep his body properly aligned and help cushion the force of the impact.
The SecureGuard strap between the legs was so clever! I have to admit that I actually spent quite a while trying to figure out exactly how to attach this buckle to the seat belt; after five years of infant car seats, I couldn’t stop looking for a metal insert to clip into place! But the strap actually connects to the seat belt by sliding over the belt via an open slit at the bottom. When I buckled my son’s seat belt, I just slipped the SecureGuard onto the belt quickly to minimize the risk of abdominal injury and ensure that he wouldn’t slip out from under the lap belt in the event of a crash!
The final unique safety feature of the BRITAX Parkway SGL was the ISOFLEX Flexible Lower Connection System. What makes this safety feature unique is that it’s designed to protect the other people in the vehicle rather than the child that uses the seat. I had never really thought about it before but in the event of a crash, an unsecured booster seat becomes a projectile that could injure the other passengers in the vehicle. With the easy-to-use ISOFLEX system, two simple clips in the bottom of the booster seat are pulled out and clipped onto the seat frame to secure the booster to the back seat of a vehicle in mere seconds!
In addition to all these fabulous safety features, the BRITAX Parkway SGL had a grown-up, stylish look with three different fabric choices and a kid-friendly drink and snack holder on each side of the booster seat. Zackary loved his new booster seat and it was easy to see that he found it incredibly comfortable. And I was equally comfortable knowing that he was as safe as possible!
If you’re dreaming about the comfort and safety of this fantastic booster seat now, you’re in luck because BRITAX is very generously offering one lucky Mommy Kat and Kids reader their very own BRITAX Parkway SGL worth $170! To enter to win, just leave a blog comment with your favourite tip for travelling with children!
Overall, the BRITAX Parkway SGL exemplified everything that I have come to expect from BRITAX. It had the most advanced safety features I’ve ever seen in a booster seat, was easy to use and even had a sleek look that satisfied my inner style. And to top it all off, Zackary loved it as much as I did! If you want a booster seat that takes safety seriously while maintaining comfort and style, check out the BRITAX Parkway SGL for yourself, because you can always trust that BRITAX makes your child’s safety the top priority!

Bring a few favourite toys of each kids and lots of their favourite snacks (just in case you can’t buy them right away when you arrived). If the kids are older, bring the DVD player or a tablet, so that they can entertain themselves
travel at night when the kids are sleeping!
I like the B-Ready stroller
I think it’s a good idea to travel with extra snacks, a dvd player, and take lots of pee breaks!
(Rafflecopter name: Jacb Cody)
Healthy snacks and a box of hand wipes!
Best tip is to have plenty of snacks and a large variety of DVDs to view!
I also like the B-AGILE Double stroller. Would come in handy with my two grandsons!
we always had the back of seat storage packs for each child so they had their own water bottle, books, snack, small flash light, pencils, , etc in it. They are well worth the money so you as parents can focus on the road when driving and not trying to turn around and dole out kids items the whole trip. Another good investment for LONG trips is a dvd player for movies. Saves your sanity!
My traveling tips are bring snacks and toys!!
My best tip is to carry things to occupy them, maybe have a way for them to watch their dvd’s or to play games. Not to mention, they are always thirsty so, a drink for them is always great
I love the B-Agile double stroller
I just love the B agile Double stroller Britax is coming out with. It looks SO lightweight, and when traveling around with 2 kids, it sure would be nice to have something so lightweight!

My best tip is to bring some traveling games they can play.. It usually does keep them occupied for a while.. Thanks.
Make sure they have activities to occupy them in the car.
If you can’t travel at night, bring lots of games to play along the way. and snacks, lots of snacks.
B-AGILE stroller

bring cheap new little toys. you can find some at the dollar store. It keeps my kids busy for hours

I love the B ready stroller
We try to make every trip an adventure – pointing out the interesting things around us. It often prompts good educational moments and keeps the kids occupied. and when that gets boring, or the adults need a break, the DVD is a god-send.
snacks, juice boxes, disney cd’s and toys. My son loves his Leapster for car rides
Best Tip? MUSIC!!!
Portable DVD players a must!
Snacks, DVD and movies, Snacks (lol) and wipes ! Also travel at night when they are more likely to sleep through most of the trip !!
I love the seatbelt idea. I keep my daughter in her toddler carseat but i know she has far outgrown it. But i feel like shes more at risk with just the booster and seatbelt. I love the idea of this carseat. Its exactly what ive been looking for.
We have long road trips often with a 3yo in tow and my best tips is to ensure you have plenty of snacks, a portable DVD player and/or tablet for games/reading, books, colouring/crafts, favourite sleeping essentials *like her blankie and stuffed animal* for when they are tired, a potty (in between pit stops).
Lots of distractions and ample potty/stretching breaks
My best tip is to try and snag some of the airline puke bags next time you travel or buy online. My Husband is a Pilot and we stock our van full of them since our oldest seems to get carsick on longer rides. Our son knows to hold the bag and puke in to it if he has to, and it saves us from having a disaster spewfest all over the van!
We keep a bag of only car toys. That way they are always special.
Always pack plenty of snacks and toys/games for the kids to do while in the car.
My travel tip: give them each their own backpack full of games, activities, books and snacks.
have lots of activities for them in the car!
Love the videos explaining how to properly install car seats
Our favorite “survival tactic” on the road is to bring along a tablet so DS can watch Spongebob on Netflix. Thank God for Netlix!
make frequent stops and make sure everyone is buckled up right
I learned that they have a Stroller Board/attaches to the stroller..WOW!!
I love the idea of the infant/child carseats. both of my 2 oldest kids were too tall for the infant carriers before they were a year old and I am thinking it will be the same way with my youngest. I would love to be able to get my hands on one for future use for him.
