With all the activities filling the lives of the average family these days, it takes a very special person to use their precious free hours not for themselves, but for the betterment of others. The people that support charities in our communities are such an important part of so many of our lives and usually, those that give the most are the ones that never seek any recognition for their efforts.
Scotiabank wants to celebrate Canada’s unsung heroes, so the company has partnered with the CFL on an exciting new program: Scotiabank Game Changers! You’re invited to nominate a person that you feel has given back to their community by supporting a worthy charity. You can even nominate yourself! After submitting your nomination, Canadians will be able to visit the Scotiabank Game Changers site and vote for their favourite nominee. Nomination submission and voting will be open until October 14, 2012. After that, the fun really starts!
Scotiabank will be announcing 72 regional Scotiabank Game Changer semi-finalists who will each receive $1,000 for a charity of their choice as well as a CFL prize pack. From those 72 nominees, eight finalists will be chosen to receive a 100th Grey Cup VIP trip to Toronto. And after a final vote between the eight finalists, one grand prize winner will receive $100,000 for their charity when the contest ends on November 20, 2012!
