When I was a child, we didn’t have a lot of money for luxuries. We had our little house, enough food to eat, a weekly allowance, a few special toys…it was enough. But our clothes were hand-me-downs, our toys were usually bought at garage sales and our meals were often budget-friendly choices like tuna noodle casserole or hot dogs.
If there was ever a special toy that we really, really wanted, it was something we would usually get on our birthdays or at Christmas…if we were lucky. I remember browsing through the toy stores when I was little and gazing wide-eyed at the beautiful Collector’s Edition Barbie dolls in their sparkling detailed dresses, wishing that I could have one.
I never did get a Barbie in an exquisite gown, but I did have a few other Barbie dolls complete with both homemade and store-bought clothing and I used to have hours of fun creating make-believe games with them. My pride and joy was a Barbie that had a pretty pink party dress and a feather boa. Her outfit wasn’t as elaborate as the incredible Collector’s Edition Barbies I admired, but it was every bit as special to me!
Today Barbie is just as popular as ever and because Mattel understands how special a Barbie doll can be to a little girl, the company is launching the See What Happens When You Save with Barbie promotion! While most people have bigger budgets today (and most kids have more toys) there are still times when giving your child a special toy and still making ends meet can be difficult. Mattel wants to make those times easier, so every Tuesday and Thursday starting August 7, 2012, the company will be offering money-saving coupons on Barbie dolls and accessories at Websaver.ca!
I’ll be sharing news about the coupons as they’re released on Facebook and Twitter over the next few weeks, so keep your eyes open for all kinds of great savings that will let you indulge your little princess with fun Barbie products. And make sure to check out the Barbie Facebook page for the latest news and fun promotions from Barbie!
I’m so happy to be able to share this promotion that makes it easier for moms to give the joy of Barbie to their little girls. Because when it comes right down to it, Barbie isn’t just a beautiful woman in stylish clothes. She’s a way of developing a little girl’s imagination and encouraging her to dream big. Now, with these great savings, that’s something that every little girl gets to experience.
