My boys love the kid-friendly shows from Nickelodeon and they often watch DVDs of their favourite shows in the evening before bed. The DVDs are great entertainment, but they can also be quite educational and that’s a concept that really comes through in the latest Nickelodeon DVD releases, Let’s Learn: ABCs and Let’s Learn: 123s. Here’s a brief synopsis of the two titles:
LET’S LEARN: ABCs
A is for “awesome” in these five ABC play dates from Nick Jr.! Kids learn about letters and reading as they visit libraries with Team Umizoomi and Diego, help Dora save ABC animals, and jump into classic stories with Blue’s Clues and the Wonder Pets!
LET’S LEARN: 123s
Kids can count on Nick Jr. friends to make learning math as easy as 1, 2, 3 in these five play dates! Count comets with Team Umizoomi, journey through school with Dora, figure out Blue’s favourite number, plus more!
These DVDs were a little bit simplistic for Zackary, but Benjamin absolutely loved them. At three years old, he is right at the age of learning his letters and numbers and the DVDs featured plenty of talk about those concepts from some of Benjamin’s very favourite characters. From his long-time favourites like Diego to newly discovered friends including the loveable members of Team Umizoomi, there is lots of opportunity for learning with favourite friends!

Benjamin has been having a great time watching these fun DVDs from Nickelodeon and I like the way that he follows along filling in letters and numbers when prompted during the shows. I think he’s more reinforcing what he knows than learning new things, but either way he’s having fun and that’s what makes me happiest! ABCs…but 123s looks just as great!
My 3 year old daughter would enjoy both of them but if she had to pick a favorite, I think it would be 123s because she’s very much into counting right now.
