As a Western Canadian blogger, I sometimes feel like I miss out on a lot of great events that seem to inevitably be held in the Toronto area. As much as I would love to attend all of them, the planning and expense involved make attending a Toronto event a rare experience for me. That’s why I was so excited last year when BlogWest, the premiere Western Canada blogging conference, was announced.
Of course I had to attend, and I was honoured to have the chance to speak on the monetization panel at the conference as well. BlogWest 2012 was educational, informative and a great way to connect with so many incredible Western Canadian bloggers. So when the BlogWest 2013 Ambassador Program was announced, I couldn’t wait to apply. I was so excited when I was chosen as the very first BlogWest 2013 Conference Ambassador.

One of the best things about the BlogWest 2013 Conference, besides the fact that it gives Western Canadian bloggers an accessible venue to learn and connect, is that it isn’t a female-focused conference. Whether you’re a food, tech or fashion blogger, there are sessions on topics ranging from blog design to personal branding to help you make the most of your site. Last year I attended an incredible session on writing headlines that made a huge difference in the way I create my blog post titles and I was told that newer bloggers found the WordPress learning sessions incredibly helpful.

I attended last year and loved the conference! I especially agree with you that it’s especially nice that it is blogger focused, not mommy/woman focused only. I like interacting with a variety of bloggers and I of course love that it’s local

I have been blogging since November 2011 and have not yet had the chance to attend a blogger conference as they have always been so far away. I live in Edmonton, so this couldn’t work out more perfectly for me! I would love to learn more about blogging and everything it has to offer. I would like to learn everything I can about the blogging world, as there is so much more I need to learn. Meeting other fellow Canadian bloggers is super exciting too!
