Due to the nature of my job, I have to travel fairly often and while I am sometimes able to take my boys with me, other times I have to leave them with family while I’m away. The Sparkup was incredibly simple to use. I simply clipped it onto the back cover of a book, pressed the record button, and read the title of the book out loud. Then I pressed the middle button to stop the recording. I turned the page and repeated the steps until the book was done. Just like that, the Sparkup was now able to recognize the book when it was placed in the reader, thanks to a cleverly placed camera that scanned each page of the book as I was reading. In fact, if kids skip a few pages of the book, the Sparkup Magical Book Reader recognizes that and skips to the correct page as well!
I recorded a few the boys’ favourite books on the Sparkup Magical Book Reader including some Franklin and Berenstain Bears books. Seeing how the reader was able to instantly recognize which book was in the Sparkup was rather amazing, and the device has the ability to store up to fifty books!
