When it comes to a great television series, I’m a social watcher. I occasionally don’t mind watching by myself, but I’m much happier when I can spend that time with my family and share my thoughts with my husband and children.
Unfortunately, my tastes aren’t always the same as theirs. And that means I occasionally need to use some persuasive tactics to convince the rest of my family to watch with me! Luckily for me, Netflix has some handy flow-charts to help make my job easier!
I must admit that when it comes to getting my family involved in a new show, I’m not above bribery. Offering the boys a bowl of ketchup popcorn and my husband a package of licorice as treats while watching is a sure-fire way to get them excited about a new show!
But what makes my favourite Netflix exclusives so great is that after a single episode, the whole family is usually hooked! And I can guarantee that will be the case with Netflix’s brand-new series Atypical! The comedy follows the adventures of 18-year-old Sam, an autistic teen in search of a girlfriend, and the rest of his family as they handle the hurdles and adventures his quest creates.
While I knew immediately that I wanted to watch the show, my husband was less enthusiastic. Luckily, he’s a huge Howard Stern fan, so once I mentioned Michael Rappaport played a role, he was sold. And after the first episode was over, we couldn’t wait to finish the entire season together!
Of course, if I really want to see a new series and can’t convince my family to watch with me, I’ll just use that as an excuse to have an indulgent night to myself. With my Netflix, a nice piece of cheesecake and a glass of wine, I don’t mind being left to watch on my own at all!
But the truth is, sitting down for a night of Netflix is so popular that I don’t have to convince my husband and boys to join me very often! And whether you prefer watching your favourite series on your own or with your family, make sure to check out Atypical and see what you think!
