Join the Power of Movement Yoga Challenge to Beat Arthritis!-Giveaway

On Sunday, March 4, thousands of Canadians at locations across the country will join together for the sixth year in a row to help raise money for arthritis and autoimmune disease research in the Power of Movement yoga fundraiser! This amazing initiative has already raised more than one million dollars and this year, the founders hope to raise an additional $500,000 to help find a way for those with arthritis to wave goodbye to joint pain once and for all.

The Power of Movement fundraiser consists of 23 yoga mega sessions from Vancouver to Halifax that will be held simultaneously across Canada. I think this is such an amazing fundraiser, especially since yoga can be extremely helpful in treating the pain of arthritis by improving blood circulation and removing unwanted toxins from the body. Not to mention the amazing emotional benefits that yoga provides too!

And arthritis is a cause that really does deserve notice. Over 4.2 million Canadians over 15 years of age suffer from the disease. Arthritis always makes me think of my grandmother; she once loved to crochet but in her later years her hands were so twisted with arthritis that she couldn’t even dress herself some days. I can’t imagine how hard it was for her to be so helpless when she was once so capable, but that’s the kind of anguish that people with arthritis have to suffer through every day.
