Music has always been a big part of my life. My father plays guitar, my mother plays piano and through my youth I learned to play piano, clarinet, saxophone and trombone. I am a huge believer in the power of music on a child’s intellectual development and it’s one of the reasons that I’ve featured so many amazing children’s musicians on my site.
LEGO DUPLO understands the effect that music can have on creativity too. In fact, a 2011 study of parents with children between one and five years of age revealed that among children that listen to music during playtime, 55% of children are happier when music is coupled with play; 50% are more excited to play when they hear music and 43% act sillier when music is coupled with play.

So when we got the opportunity to review a musical CD called
When I received an illustrated musical audio novel entitled
So what makes the CD so appealing? It starts with the great melodies, which combine rock, alternative and hip-hop for an appealing feel that adults will actually enjoy as much as kids. In fact, during the intro of I Can Sing, I subconsciously became convinced I was listening to one of my favourite Sublime CDs!

The CD contains ten songs about Easter and Spring and also has all ten songs in a music-only version, which makes this CD perfect for everything from school performances to impromptu karaoke sessions! My boys loved the upbeat country style of the music and I liked the combination of classic songs like Peter Cottontail and new fun songs like The Powder Puff Bunny.
The first time I saw the little yellow alien from the sun, Gustafer Yellowgold, I thought about how different kids and adults are to entertainment. The animated DVD storybook Gustafer Yellowgold: Infinity Sock had me a little mystified, but my oldest son was absolutely captivated by it (you can read the full review
