Last year I got the chance to try Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation and ever since I have been a Pur Minerals convert. Enjoy Deluxe Samples of the Newest Beauty Products with Luxe Box-Giveaway

I love trying brand-new beauty products but I really don’t have the budget to be able to buy every new cosmetic, perfume and body care product that comes out, as much as I would like to! That’s why the concept of the Luxe Box from Loose Button was so intriguing to me. The company launched in early 2011 and became a hit almost instantly by offering consumers a monthly subscription that delivered a box of the latest deluxe beauty samples to their door each and every month. I got the chance to review a March Edition Luxe Box and I was so excited to see what all the fuss was about.

The first thing I noticed when the box arrived was how absolutely stunning the presentation was. The sleek black box was so much fun to open and I was delighted to see the contents nestled in pretty tissue paper and the personalized card and seal that had been placed inside. There was even a unique seed card that could be planted to grow flowers!

The box contained J. R. Watkins Lavender Hand and Body Lotion, Cargo Glitter Top Coat, a Cargo Eye Shadow Single and three sample vials of perfume. I was excited to see that CK one Shock for Her was one of the samples; I used to be a huge fan of CK perfumes but I haven’t used one in ages. I unpacked my samples and headed to the bathroom to try them out.

The product I was most excited about was the Cargo Glitter Top Coat; I love glitz and glam so having a sparkling topcoat eyeliner for special occasions was thrilling. I wore the eyeliner to the Saskatchewan Publisher’s Guild spring reception and I loved the extra sparkle it added to my eyes. The waterproof formula was a little sticky when I first applied it but once it had dried it lasted all night and helped keep my eye makeup looking perfect.

The Cargo Eye Shadow Single was actually a double; it had two complementing colours in one sleek metal compact. It didn’t look nearly as fun as the glitter top coat initially but once I had tried it, I fell in love with the subtle colours. They were perfect for everyday use and the brown shade was the ideal colour for lining my lower lashes when I was creating a smoky eye look.

The J. R. Watkins Lavender Hand and Body Lotion was a favourite almost at once. I adore the scent of lavender and Watkins products are so effective and gentle. The natural oils in the organic formula left my hands so nice and soft. But what I was most excited to experiment with was the three different perfumes that I had received.

I tried out the Vera Wang Lovestruck perfume first. It was a rich floral scent that had a touch of appealing sweetness to it. I loved wearing it on the days when my husband and I had something romantic planned. The CK one Shock for Her was a much more playful and exciting scent. The blend of passion flower, blackberry and vanilla was fruity, fun and great for wearing every day. But the scent that I loved most was the one I tried last, the Mark Jacobs Oh, Lola! perfume. It was a stunning combination of pear, raspberry and magnolia blended with sandalwood and while it was a flirty and youthful fragrance I also found it to be very opulent. It was a perfume I could really see making my signature scent.

I had so much fun with my Loose Button Luxe Box. It was a great way to test out new products without spending a fortune buying full-sized items and it really gave me an idea about which perfumes and beauty products I might want to buy again. The Cargo Glitter Top Coat will be in my cosmetic bag permanently from now on and I’ll likely be getting a bottle of Mark Jacobs Oh, Lola! when my sample bottle is empty!

I have to admit that since I started Mommy Kat and Kids, I have become a bit of a diva where cosmetics are concerned, and I owe it all to mineral makeup. I had such a hard time finding makeup that both looked great and was gentle on my skin that I always kept my regime pretty minimal. But mineral makeup gives me both benefits and as a result, I have branched out and found the courage to experiment with my look. And I have never been happier.

I eagerly agreed and put in a special request for lip gloss as well, since I do love all-natural lip gloss!

While many people don’t realize this, mineral makeup is not necessarily vegan depending on how the colours are added to the minerals. In fact, the shells of some beetles are a frequent colouring ingredient used in some commercial cosmetics! Definitely not the most appealing thing to put on your face! The All Natural Face offers fabulous vegan makeup (sans bugs!) in a huge range of vibrant colours and shades.

Finding your perfect face is no problem at all with this kit!

I also loved that the kit came with tips for choosing my perfect foundation. Like The All Natural Face, I believe that the best makeup is that which looks completely invisible, yet makes your face look flawless. I learned that True Beige is my perfect shade, in the summer at least! My skin is a little darker than usual right now and in a few months I’m sure I’ll need a new shade. How great is it that when my skin gets lighter, I’ll be able to find a new perfect shade with my Get Started Green kit?

I was able to create so many different looks with my All Natural Face Get Started Green kit and I really loved the variety that I had thanks to the many different shades and colours I received. While there were some colours that I will probably never use, there are also so many that I use every day and so many others that will make great special occasion colours. All of the makeup was easy to apply and looked sensational. And best of all, my makeup lasted all day long!

I also received the Frosted Berries Lip Gloss and the Hot Lips Vegan Lip Plumper. Because of the all-natural ingredients, the lip glosses are unscented and unflavoured, but the gloss’s colour is just spectacular and the formula was so moisturizing. The lip plumper gets its natural plumping properties from ginger and cinnamon so it has an addictive scent and heat that I adore!

I love testing out different makeup products, and I especially love the gentle and long-lasting benefits of mineral makeup. But since I don’t have tons of experience with complicated eye makeup or bright lip colours, I absolutely adore finding products that provide a foolproof look for even the most inexperienced makeup novice.

This exclusive blend of seven different ingredients was designed to be the ultimate universal colour to provide a bright and rested eye look quickly and easily. I was lucky enough to test it out for myself and I couldn’t wait to see how it looked.

The eye shadow comes packaged in a small shaker jar. I love this packaging for eye makeup because I can tap the bottom of the jar to dispense my perfect amount of eye shadow into the lid and then apply it with my eye brushes.

B-Dazzle eye shadow is a soft and sparkling gold colour with just a hint of light pink. The first time I used it, I just dusted a light layer over my lids and below my brow bones. Immediately, my eyes looked brighter. With a light application of the B-Dazzle eye shadow, the powder itself was virtually invisible on my eyes, yet it still helped me to look awake and pulled together!

I liked the colour so much that I decided to try a heavier application the next time I used it. I used a small smudge brush to line my upper lashes with the colour and then covered the rest of my lids with a sweep of powder using my large eye shadow brush. The extra gold along my lash line really added some drama to my look, yet still looked soft and natural enough for daytime wear.
