It’s a little hard for me to believe sometimes, but my boys aren’t babies anymore! My oldest is reading, playing sports and going to the library all by himself and my youngest is dressing himself, playing independently and only too eager to remind me that he’s “a big boy.” Going from caring for all my boys’ needs to realizing that they can handle more responsibility themselves has taken me a bit of time, but I’m getting there!

Finding ways to give my boys the responsibility that they craved has been one of my biggest challenges and so I decided to start simply by giving the boys some daily chores. I am a huge fan of wall decals and we currently have them decorating nearly every room in our home. A stylish old-fashioned compass in our back porch, a quote in our kitchen, vehicle decals and jungle decals in the kids’ rooms, Orcas in the bathroom…for a busy family, wall decals have to be the easiest way to update the look of a room. TshirtPrinting.net Custom T-Shirt Printing-Review

There are many occasions in the life of a parent where obtaining customized t-shirts is necessary. From shirts for sports teams to corporate activities to charity events, so many activities seem to require custom t-shirt printing for the participants. In fact, at the elementary school in our small town, there was recently a need for over 400 bright pink printed t-shirts for the school’s anti-bullying day campaign.

I received a white t-shirt in an XL printed with a colorful monkey. The shirt was 100% cotton and had a nice medium thickness to it. The monkey was definitely the highlight of the shirt; printed in pink, blue and yellow, he added a dash of color to the front of the shirt that was just adorable.

The print was incredibly vibrant and well-applied, and my husband loved the new shirt. The XL fit him perfectly just like most extra-large shirts do, so I would say that the sizing is quite accurate. I washed and dried the shirt and there was some very slight shrinking but not enough to affect the size. It still fit my husband very well, though he did notice it didn’t hang quite as low as it had before washing.

Holiday Gift for the Glamorous Woman

Is there a woman in the world that doesn’t love a little glitz and glam? And is there a woman in the world that doesn’t love something made especially for her? Even as a child, I had a love of gifts that were personalized for me, because with my uniquely spelled name I really never saw anything pre-printed with the correct spelling. To this day, I love that feeling I get when I know that an item was made just for me. The first step was choosing a shirt. Just Jen’s shirts are available in tank, short and long-sleeved styles and a variety of different colors. I decided on the large Cotton-Spandex Long Sleeved Shirt in black since the shirts tend to run small and this shirt was described as being a little more forgiving on size thanks to the touch of spandex. Once I’d chosen the shirt, I began the process of customizing it with my own text.

I decided it would be fun to get a shirt decorated with my blog’s name, so I entered the text to print Mommy Kat and Kids across the shirt. Then, I chose the font for the text and the color of the rhinestones. I chose Royal, a fun and feminine curling font that reminded me of the text I use on my blog regularly, and Rose rhinestones, because I have a love of all things girly and I thought the pink would contrast well with black.

With just those simple steps, my shirt was ready to be created and I couldn’t wait for it to arrive. When it did, I was ecstatic and pulled it on immediately. I was thrilled with how well the pink rhinestones stood out against the black shirt, and the centered placement of the three lines of text was just perfect. I spent at least ten minutes in front of the mirror admiring the shirt after putting it on! It had nice length so that I didn’t have to worry about it riding up and really hugged my figure, which I love!

I must admit, I really babied my shirt when I washed it. I turned it inside out before putting it in the washing machine and hung it to dry to make sure that it looks great for as long as possible. After all, clothing this cute deserves some extra care! With that bit of special treatment, the shirt still looks brand new and fits great.

I am so impressed with the beauty and quality of my shirt from Just Jen. Kids love to make-believe, and nothing helps a good imaginative playtime along like a few props. Preschool brings new fads to children, and every boy in my son’s pre-kindergarten class has a deep love of superheroes. Spiderman is a favorite right now, and Iron Man is also incredibly popular, despite the fact that my son and many of the other boys have never seen the movies featuring these two popular heroes. But when my son starts playing a game of superheroes with his friends, I would rather have him creating a hero for himself instead of borrowing one from comic books and movies. And so, “Super Zackary” was born.

“Super Zackary” visits periodically when I ask for him, and I always appreciate his appearance, since he tries hard to help other people (by picking up toys, for example) and he protects people that need protecting (like his baby brother, who sometimes gets picked on by regular Zackary). Having the alter ego was fun for Zackary and helped me enjoy a little more good behavior, even if it did come with plenty of jumping, rolling and shouting.

Here was just what Zackary needed to really feel like a superhero when he was playing. I was so happy when I was given a chance to review one of the beautiful capes for myself.

I chose a red cape with a gold shield emblem and a black glitter Z to review. I loved how the cape offered so many customizable options. When the cape arrived, I pulled it out and showed it to Zackary. He was delighted by the Z on the back of the cape. “Z for Zackary,” he announced excitedly. A few times, people asked, “Oh, who are you dressed up as?” and I was delighted when my son proudly replied, “I’m Super Zackary!”

The shiny satin fabric of the cape is nice and lightweight, and the “sidekick” or 2-7 year size that I chose fits Zackary perfectly. It hangs down to right about where his knees are, and it doesn’t get in his way at all. The only problem we’ve had with the cape is that the Velcro closure at the top tends to irritate Zackary’s neck. Eventually, I solved that problem by wrapping a small, soft scrap of cloth around the neck so that Zackary wasn’t bothered by the roughness of the Velcro and yet the cape still couldn’t get caught around his neck.
