Over the last year, I have had the chance to test out so many beautiful name labels for my oldest son’s possessions. But I sometimes forget that Zackary isn’t the only one with items that can be lost, forgotten or misplaced. Benjamin has a bit of a mischievous streak for an eighteen-month-old and his tendency to hide his things has resulted in forgotten items more than once already. Babies and toddlers often need different types of labels than older children, so when I received the chance to review one of the wonderful Daycare Labels Combo Packs from I.D. Me Labels, I knew that they were just what I needed for my baby boy.
I chose green labels with a racecar icon for Benjamin. The Daycare Label set I received came with All-Purpose Icon Labels, Binky/Bib Buttons, Streamline Labels, Sole Mate Labels, Stick-On Clothing Labels and a blank bag tag. I couldn’t wait to test out some of the adorable dishwasher and microwave-safe labels on Benjamin’s possessions!
The first items I decided to label were Benjamin’s sippy cups. He has a very frustrating habit of hiding his cups in the strangest places so that when he wants a drink, I can never find a cup to give him. Once, I found a cup behind the couch. Another time, his cup was shoved into the bottom of his folded stroller in our porch. On one particularly memorable occasion, he hid a cup in his dad’s work boot. With his track record, I know that it’s just a matter of time before he hides one of his cups when we’re out of the house. I applied the labels to every one of Benjamin’s four sippy cups and I loved how cute the labels looked when they were applied. The labels still look like new after three weeks of washing, and when Benjamin is playing with other babies, the labels make it so easy to identify his cup!
The Binky/Bib Buttons are adorable little dots that are perfect for sticking on a bib label or the end of a soother. Benjamin doesn’t use a soother, but he does have quite a large set of bibs, and I really liked how quick and easy it was to stick the adorable little circles onto the labels. Even when I machine-washed and dried the bibs, the little Binky/Bib Button labels stayed put.
The Streamline Labels were the long thin labels that I always love using for toothbrushes. I decided Benjamin should be no exception and applied a label to his toothbrush. He was delighted with his new special label and so was his big brother, who was thrilled that “his baby” had a toothbrush label just like he did!
The Sole Mate Shoe Labels consisted of both a round name label and a round clear cover to protect the label from sweat and dirt. I really liked how small these labels were made. Getting a label properly positioned in a tiny toddler shoe isn’t easy, but the labels were small enough that applying them to the inside of the little shoes wasn’t a problem. I also liked the way that the clear covers were slightly larger than the labels. I have struggled in the past to position a clear label over a printed one and having the bigger clear label to place over the printed label made the application process much easier. Benjamin really doesn’t wear his shoes constantly or heavily enough for me to be able to judge their durability, but the labels in his shoes look absolutely immaculate so far and are a great help to me when he takes his shoes off in public places!
The Stick-On Clothing Labels were made in a design I hadn’t seen before and I loved the three different sizes for different-sized care tags. The “H” shaped label was the most unique label in the set and the way it wrapped around the care tag and overlapped at the back to ensure a secure hold was so clever. For larger care tags like those on jackets and outerwear, they were a much more secure and durable choice than a standard stick-on clothing label. The labels were plain white so that they stood out nicely on the care tags and they proved to be perfectly able to withstand repeated machine washing and drying.
I.D. Me Labels also carries combo packs of school labels and camp labels so that every child can have the labels they need no matter where they go. Benjamin loves his labels, and already they have made my life much easier. Whether we forget a piece of clothing at the library or leave a toy behind in Zackary’s pre-Kindergarten classroom, the chances are good that someone will pick it up, recognize Benjamin’s name and call me to let me know they have one of his items. Babies need so many essential accessories that losing or forgetting a few of them is inevitable. With the cute and sturdy labels in the I.D. Me Labels Daycare Combo Pack, getting a lost item back again is a much better possibility. Why not check out their fun combo packs for yourself?
