One of the things I love about shopping at Real Canadian Superstore is the selection. Whether I’m looking for a new dinner option or just a fun snack I haven’t tried before, I know that I’ll find plenty of new items to test out at my local store. Recently I received a package of some of the new T&T brand Asian products, which were tested and approved by the CEO of T&T Supermarket, that the store has introduced and I was intrigued by the new choices available.
Stir-fry is a pretty popular meal choice in our house since the boys love the bite-sized morsels of food and I love the speediness of the dish on a busy day. So I was especially excited to see the T&T Korean Kalbi Marinade Sauce in our package. I combined it with steak, red pepper, carrots and broccoli to create a quick and delicious dinner. The first thing that caught my eye was the Loads Of Jalapeno Popper Ripple Chips. While the chips sounded a little too spicy for my taste, my husband was only too happy to test them out and he proclaimed them irresistible. The combination of spicy jalapeno and mellow cheddar cheese flavour blended together beautifully in these flavour-packed chips.

For the kids, there was a four-pack of PC 100% Sparkling Grape Juice. I really dislike soda, but it tends to end up in our house over the holidays regardless of my disfavour. The sparkling juice beverages from PC were the perfect compromise; they let the kids enjoy the bubbly fizz of soda, yet I knew all they were really getting was a delicious cup of juice!
I also received a gift card to try a few of the holiday’s must-haves from the frozen food aisles, so I gave my family a mini-holiday that started with the PC Shrimp Mini Hors D’oeuvres Collection. Then we dug into scrumptious PC Dine-in Tonight Lasagne made of spinach, ricotta and butternut squash. A meltingly delicious and oh-so-easy dessert of PC The Decadent Molten Chocolate Chip Cookies featuring a chocolaty molten centre finished off our festive meal.
Of course, PC has some fun new options for the lunchbox, including individually wrapped, peanut-free cookies, brownies and cakes. Zackary loved the Banana Bread Little Penguins Soft Cookies and the fact that each was wrapped individually was great for controlling portions.
Fall doesn’t just mean a return to school lunches, though. It also means a return to rushed dinners as a result of all the children’s activities that begin once again. President’s Choice is ready with some great options for quick and delicious meals.
From gourmet whole-bean coffee to healthy single-serving entrees, the back-to-school products from President’s Choice offer something for everyone. My personal favourite was the President’s Choice Cosmic Sours. Since they’re made with pectin instead of gelatine, they’re incredibly soft and chewy. I have to confess, I actually hid these and ate them all myself; the kids will have to wait until we buy another bag to give them a try. Yes, they’re that good!
