Am I the only one that thinks the humble razor has become a little bit absurd? I love it when my husband has a smooth, freshly shaved face, but really, what difference does it make whether or not the razor has a patented “cool strip” or not? And what exactly is a vibrating razor supposed to do?
All of the bells and whistles look and sound cool, but what they really add up to is unbelievably overpriced blades. And because, like so many other families, we hate to waste money, my husband usually ends up using one blade for much longer than he should in a desperate attempt to avoid purchasing more. End result? He usually misses out on that great super-close shave anyways!
Thankfully, BIC, the original creator of the disposable razor, has stepped up to say, “No more!” The company believes that shaving should be affordable, without compromising on the quality of the shave itself. Recently, we were given the chance to review a package of the company’s brand new Flex 4 razors and both my husband and I were eager to see if the reasonably priced razors would still provide a great shave.
BIC Flex 4 razors feature four independent spring-mounted blades that distribute and absorb pressure for an ultra soft shave. The razors have a sleek and modern look that is just as attractive as any other razor I have seen and with a large lubricating strip containing aloe vera and vitamin E and a pivoting head to follow the contours of the face, getting a close shave is a breeze. The razors even have an amazing ergonomically designed handle to ensure easy handling!
My husband has a sensational shaving kit containing shave oil, shave gel and aftershave balm, so he carefully applied the shave oil and gel to his face before testing out the new razor. For the closest shave, making sure the skin is supple is incredibly important and the oil and gel worked together to do just that. After my husband was done shaving, he came over to let me check out the results. His skin was as smooth as if he had shaved with a brand new expensive blade and he said that the razor was as easy to use as his regular razor.
The BIC Flex 4 gave my husband a shave that was just as good as his usual shave. The difference between the two razors wasn’t visible on his face, but it was in his pocket! A package of three BIC Flex 4 razors retails for approximately $5.99, as opposed to almost $22 for a package containing four blades for his usual razor. With savings like that, why would anyone want to spend more?
My husband loves the BIC Flex 4 razors and since he doesn’t have to feel guilty about using a new one, his skin is actually smoother more often than it was when he was using his old razor. If the man in your life is convinced that a fancy razor with high-priced blades is the only way to get a great shave, challenge him to give the BIC Flex 4 razors a try. He has nothing to lose but the hefty price tag!
