February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and to help encourage kids to take care of their smile, the beloved PBS children’s show Dinosaur Train is getting involved!
The learning starts with a special episode of the show, so tune into Dinosaur Train on March 1 on PBS KIDS to watch the T-Rex Teeth episode (check your local listings) and see Dr. Scott, the host of Dinosaur Train, tell us all about the teeth of the Tyrannosaurus and other carnivores like sharks. Both sharks and Tyrannosaurus’ lose their teeth, but those teeth are always replaced by new ones. Humans only get two sets of teeth so it’s important to take good care of them!
And to make the celebration even more fun, The Jim Henson Company is partnering with Sunstar Americas, Inc. to launch a brand new line of Dinosaur Train themed toothbrushes! I received a package of two toothbrushes to check out and both my children just loved them. As if the fun and vibrant Dinosaur Train design featuring Buddy and Shiny wasn’t cool enough, the toothbrushes also featured clever suction-cup bottoms. My boys had so much fun sticking the toothbrushes to the sink, the mirror and anywhere else they could dream up. And I loved how the suction cups kept the toothbrushes so handy!
Buddy and his friends have some great tooth care tips for kids as well, so click here to download your very own Dinosaur Train Teeth Tips Poster. And one lucky reader is even going to win their own GUM twin pack of Dinosaur Train toothbrushes! So get your child excited about dental health with fun activities and information from Dinosaur Train and set the stage for a lifetime of good dental health!
