It’s Time for Kids to Play with the Energizer Free Their Imagination Giveaway #FreeTheirImagination

One of my very favourite pastimes is to watch my boys play. I used to love watching Zackary racing two of his cars around and listening to the conversations the two racers had with one another. Now that Zackary is usually playing with Benjamin, I watch both of them as they create fantastic stories about everything from pirates to superheroes to SpongeBob.

It may just look like playtime to most, but every time a child acts out a story with figurines or builds a structure out of blocks, they’re learning something about the world and the way that it works. That’s one of the reasons I am such a strong supporter of creative play.

My boys are experts at creative play; they are given a lot of freedom to explore with different toys and activities every day but they do have a few special favourite ways to play. Zackary loves to build with LEGO blocks and then act out stories with the people and devices that he builds. Benjamin is especially fond of playing pretend with his extensive collection of “babies,” his stuffed animals that are good for cuddling and for playtime. And both boys love creating any type of art project.

This picture Zackary made is one of my very favourite artistic endeavours from my oldest son. His drawing has come a long way from the large pages of scribbles he used to make when he was a preschooler! This picture is a portrait of Zackary and his brother and I love how he added details like the spiky hair and fingers!

Energizer is a company that thinks creative play is just as important as I do and to help kids enjoy some extra playtime and use their imaginations even more, they have teamed up with Crayola to offer an amazing giveaway on the Energizer Canada Facebook page right now!

Every hour from now until October 2, 2012, Energizer will be giving away great Crayola prizes in the Energizer Free Their Imagination giveaway! And for even more chances to win, Energizer has provided me with a unique PIN code that will give you an extra entry into the giveaway. The bonus entry PIN is: CreateEverywhere! You can find more PIN codes on other great Canadian blogs, so keep your eyes open and increase your chances of winning!

I’m so excited about this great partnership and love the fact that Energizer is helping kids to use their imaginations more. With school out for the summer, why not enter and give your children the chance to get creative with some fun new Crayola products? They may look like they’re just having fun, but they’re really learning every minute!
