Breakfast Clubs of Canada Will Help More Than 100,000 Children This Year Thanks to Minute Maid #MinuteMaidBCC

September 18, 2012 by Kathryn 9 Comments

minute-maid-orange-juiceI think almost all us busy parents occasionally struggle with getting our children to eat breakfast before the family rushes out the door in the morning. It can be frustrating at times, but it’s nothing compared to the anguish of Canadian parents that are forced to send their children off to school with nothing to eat at all.

Approximately one in every ten Canadian children is at risk of starting their day on an empty stomach and in such a wealthy country, that’s a statistic that simply shouldn’t exist. That’s why I was so excited to hear that this fall, Minute Maid has once again partnered with Breakfast Clubs of Canada and Club des petits déjeuners du Québec to help ensure that every child starts the day with a full stomach and the energy to get through the day. In fact, the company has pledged a commitment of $1.5 million dollars’ worth of 100% juice over the next three years.

Thanks to the support from Minute Maid, more than 119,000 Canadian schoolchildren will be able to start their day with a nutritious, balanced breakfast this year and that’s a number that makes me proud to send my own children to school with Minute Maid juice in their lunches.

The support of programs like Breakfast Clubs of Canada and Club des petits déjeuners du Québec by both individuals and beloved Canadian brands including Minute Maid warms my heart and I can’t help but feel grateful that I live in a country that understands how important it is for children to get proper nourishment each and every day. Programs like this don’t just feed the body; they give children a sense of security that is essential for overall well-being.

Growing up in a household of very limited means has given me so much appreciation for the work that Breakfast Clubs of Canada does. So this fall, show your support by letting your own children start the day with a glass of Minute Maid 100% juice. It’s not just delicious, it’s also a great way to ensure that all children have an equal chance to grow and learn!

Thanks so much for sharing. I normally make my own OJ but I’ll buy a carton to help support.

This is amazing. We’ve grown up humbly too and it’s such a blessing to have programs like this. Poverty exists in third world countries, yes, but it also exists in our very own backyards. It’s strange to see my daughter’s school donating to MY old school. I grown to appreciate everything we have and the blessings we have and programs like these help us on our journeys. 🙂 LOVELY.

I had no idea Minute Maid funded a program such as this, we’ll be drinking more Minute Maid from now on to help support this worthy cause.
