Philips AVENT Natural Drinking Cup Helps Your Child Go From Baby to Big Kid-Giveaway

September 11, 2012 by Elizabeth 80 Comments

My son is at the age where he is supposed to start learning how to use a cup and I have to say, it has been a struggle. After several sippy cups and some very wet floors (and a very wet baby), I got the Philips AVENT Natural Drinking Cup to test out. Immediately it scored major “Dad Points;” when Chase’s father looked at it for the first time he said, “That is very cool, let’s try it right now!”

philips avent natural drinking cupSo we did and I had to agree, it’s a very genius idea indeed. The first thing to note is the innovative 360° drinking, which I love for my baby especially. Chase tends to think he can drink from any side of his cups or bottles and he gets frustrated when he tries to drink from a random point on the cup and nothing comes out. Now, as long as his Philips AVENT Natural Drinking Cup is facing upright, he can get a drink.

The top is designed with a valve that only allows liquid to escape at the point where it is being pushed down with your baby’s lip, which means the only water that comes out goes straight into your toddler’s mouth. The only spills are what baby spits out, and spill-proof doesn’t get any better than that!

The cup includes lots of other features too, some that are fairly standard and some that go above and beyond the regular sippy cup. Remember that there is no spout, which means no straw either. In other words, the cup doesn’t have to stay flat when the liquid inside gets low (which also means even if Chase is laying down he can still take a drink). It holds a full nine ounces (which is more water than Chase has ever drank in one sitting), and is both Orthodontist recommended and BPA-free.

Somebody loves his new big boy cup!

The Philips AVENT Natural Drinking Cup comes with a lid for travel and hygiene, which is always handy whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or you and your little one are always on the go. There are only three pieces including the lid, so it’s easy to clean and assemble and safe to sterilize. Plus, it has two small handles, perfect for baby hands and fingers to grasp!

If you have a toddler that’s ready to start drinking like a big kid, you’re in luck because Philips AVENT is offering one Mommy Kat and Kids reader a set of two of its fabulous new Natural Drinking Cups! To enter to win, just take a look at the AVENT website and leave a blog comment about another product that you’d love to check out.

With its fast flow valve suited for 12 months and up, this is a great choice if your baby is learning to use a real cup and the 360° drinking creates the perfect transition between sippy cups and big-kid drinking. Check it out for yourself and see why this cup is the newest revolution in sippy cups!

I have tried several (like 5 or 6) sippy cup brands over the paast 4 years and these (http://www.philips.ca/c/avent-baby-toddler-feeding/260ml-12m-plus-toddler-spout-scf602_01/prd/en/) have been my favorite. I love the soft spout. I love how cleanable they are and I love that Avent sells replacement tops!

Would love to check out the insulated cups for 12 months + because I find that it is hard to find cups that are baby sized and coloured for babies, could only find older kids or adult sized and coloured etc!!

I’m interested in the stage 2 teethers and how they might be better than the regular “all-stages” teethers. My son has been hurting much more with his canines than with any other teeth.
