Halloween is one of my very favourite holidays and each year I look forward to finding new fun activities for my boys and me to enjoy. This year, Kellogg’s decided to give us a little help with a fun Halloween-themed Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats kit! Containing Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, marshmallows, Halloween cookie cutters and decorating supplies, it was the perfect way to get in the mood for some spooky fun!
I made the squares while Zackary was at school and then let both boys decorate a pumpkin and a bat with the icing and candies that the kit contained. Of course, they went a little overboard; Zackary’s shapes were hard to see underneath the candy he’d piled on top! But both boys had so much fun that I just let them enjoy themselves. After all, Halloween only comes once a year!
When the boys were done, they devoured the treats for their afternoon snack. I had to deal with a bit of a sugar rush as a result but it was worth it. And there are enough treats left for my boys to enjoy tomorrow too! But the best thing about making Halloween Rice Krispies Treats is how easy it was. Just three ingredients, a few minutes of mixing and an assortment of candies for decorating and we had fun themed treats that were simple enough for the boys to make all by themselves!
If you’re looking for a fun activity to do with your children this Halloween, why not try making a batch of Rice Krispies Treats and decorating them to look like pumpkins, bats, black cats and other Halloween shapes? It’s simple, quick and enjoyable for children of all ages!
