Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted is on Blu-ray and DVD Complete with Marty’s Rainbow Wig

Buckle up and get ready for a European adventure, because Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted is now available on Blu-ray and DVD! My boys and I both loved the first two movies chronicling the adventures of Alex the Lion and his friends as they tried to find their way back to their home at the New York City Zoo, so I was thrilled when I received the DVD set to review. Here’s a brief synopsis of the film:

madagascar 3 box artAlex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple and of course, King Julien, Maurice and the Penguins are all along for the comedic adventure. Their journey takes them through Europe where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent – Madagascar style.

My boys were so excited to sit down and watch this movie and it didn’t disappoint them one bit. The plot is perfect for school-aged children and has enough subtle humour to entertain adults as well. And Zackary, Benjamin and I all couldn’t help but laugh at Marty the Zebra singing and dancing in a rainbow wig and polka dots.

Our own rainbow wig, which came with the DVD, is tucked away for the time being but I can’t wait to pull it out for some dress-up fun at some point in the future. For now, though, my boys have been perfectly entertained just watching the movie over and over. In fact, it’s been such a hit that Zackary’s teacher borrowed it for the class to watch on Halloween after hearing Zackary rave about it!

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted is available on Blu-ray and DVD in a special limited edition set that includes Marty’s Rainbow Wig so check your local DVD retailer or shop online and let your kids enjoy some circus fun with Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melman and a lot of new friends!

  1. You’ll be pleased to read the following:
“According to director Tom McGrath, the MADAGASCAR franchise would continue with a spin-off titled THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR, which will be released in 2015. McGrath voices penguin leader Skipper who is also on the animated series, THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR. No word on whether a direct sequel would follow the successful third movie.”

  2. This was my favorite of the series (we saw it at the movies). I’m highly likely to pick one up for my son’s Christmas stocking. I’m going to keep my eyes open for the one you mentioned with a wig. :)
