Pack a Lunch Your Child Will Love with Snack Pack-Giveaway #NoTradesies

There’s nothing more frustrating than waking up every morning to pack a healthy lunch for my son only to have half of it come back uneaten at the end of the day. Zackary has always been a bit of a picky eater and after a week or two of repetitive lunches, I start noticing that he is eating less and less. That’s why I was so excited to be a part of the Snack Pack “No Tradesies” blog tour. The mission? To start the second half of the school year off right by packing a lunch for my son that he wouldn’t be tempted to trade away or bring home at the end of the day!

To help me complete my task, I received a fabulous “No Tradesies” lunch pack containing three delicious flavours of Snack Pack pudding and an assortment of fun lunch supplies. Zackary and Benjamin were both so excited about the new lunch items and both insisted on picking out a new lunchbox from the set of four Easy Lunchboxes we received. Zackary chose the red lunchbox and Benjamin decided to take green; perfect colours for returning to school after Christmas!

I debated a little bit about what to pack in Zackary’s lunch. I finally decided to stick with my son’s all-time favourite sandwich: deli chicken on brown bread. Instead of sandwich bread, though, I used dinner buns that we had left over from holiday celebrating. I added chunks of kiwi, Zackary’s favourite fruit, and some mini cheese-filled crackers just for fun. A Snack Pack pudding in the Ice Cream Sandwich flavour and a bottle of juice finished off the meal!

When I picked up my son from school and unpacked his backpack, I saw that he had indeed polished off everything in his lunch. I have to admit, though, there hadn’t really been any doubt about him gobbling down his Snack Pack pudding! He loves Snack Pack and I love knowing that the treat he can’t resist is made from skim milk! If you’re looking for ways to pack “No Tradesies” lunches too, Snack Pack has some tips for you:

  • Can’t get your kids to eat their fruit? Adding Snack Pack to the mix turns fruit into a tasty, dip-able adventure. Try the Caramel Apple, all it takes is some apple slices and a Toffee Caramel pudding.
  • Sandwich Shape-up: Even a favourite sandwich can seem boring and routine when it shows up in the lunchbox day after day. Keep things interesting and kids engaged by breaking out the cookie cutters and cutting the sandwiches into fun shapes.
  • Kebab it up: skewering some bite-sized veggies on a kebab with a side of veggie dip is a different and fun way to make sure veggies are not coming home at the end of the day.
  • Utensils are key: let your kids pick out their utensils, napkins and lunchboxes. They definitely won’t be reaching for the aluminum, and giving them a say means they will take pride in their lunch pack. Have bright, colourful spoons on hand so kids can choose whether it’s a yellow, blue or orange kind of day!
