With school now back in full swing, packing lunches has become a routine and in this house, that usually means that the lunch itself is fairly routine too. A sandwich, pudding, a granola bar…day after day I pack up the same items and for the most part, my boys don’t complain. Still, I can’t help but want to add a little more variety to their lunchboxes, especially if I can do so in a healthy way!
That’s why Sabra Dips have become my new lunchtime essential. Whether I’m making a school lunch or planning an after-school snack, the flavourful hummus, guacamole and salsa are always top picks. My personal favourite is definitely the hummus; it’s full of protein and fibre to help power my boys through their day and comes in so many delicious flavours!
I especially love serving Sabra Hummus by packing a small container of it with fresh vegetables in my boys’ lunch. It’s such a healthy alternative to traditional dip and also encourages my boys to eat more veggies! Alternatively, I’ll sometimes use hummus instead of mayonnaise on the boys’ sandwiches. It’s especially good paired with deli chicken and crisp romaine lettuce!
