Ever since I was a child, Kellogg’s Mini Wheats has been one of my very favourite breakfast cereals. The crunchy whole wheat squares with a touch of frosting made for a breakfast that was filling as well as fun! Back in my youth, I was only able to choose between Original and Brown Sugar Mini Wheats, but today there are so many delicious flavours available. Maple, Strawberry, Cinnamon and other mouth-watering varieties ensure that there’s a favourite Mini Wheats cereal for everyone!
But to really shake up your Mini Wheats, Kellogg’s is challenging Canadians to #TryItHot! I have to admit that when it comes to Mini Wheats, I really enjoy that cold, refreshing crunch. But I was willing to take the challenge and see if Mini Wheats served with warm milk and toppings of my choice could win me over!
I decided to dig into a bowl of Kellogg’s Maple Mini Wheats and warm milk topped with chopped apple and a sprinkle of cinnamon. The apple added a nice bit of crunch to the cereal and the cinnamon blended beautifully with the maple. It was such a warming and Canadian way to start the day!
Kellogg’s wants to see how you like your favourite Mini Wheats cereal when you #TryItHot too, so the company is very generously offering one lucky Mommy Kat and Kids reader a Mini Wheats prize pack worth $50! To enter to win, just leave a blog comment about what tasty toppings you might add to your Mini Wheats when you try the cereal with warm milk.
Even though I still prefer my Mini Wheats cold, I did enjoy the chance to try the cereal as a warm dish, and deciding how to top the tasty treat was definitely a big part of the fun. In fact, I’m inspired now to try a few different toppings on my cold cereal as well since my Maple Apple Cinnamon Mini Wheats turned out so well! Next time you’re trying to beat a chill, why not try your own hot flavour combination? You may just fall in love with Kellogg’s Mini Wheats all over again!
