When it comes to choosing food for my family, I want products that are delicious, wholesome and packed with nutrition. And for me, that usually means choosing products that are organic. With no pesticides and natural ingredients, choosing organic is the perfect way to support the environment while enjoying great taste too! That’s why I’m so excited about Canada’s National Organic Week, running from September 19-27.
Nature’s Path, one of my very favourite organic companies, is supporting the organic movement with a great video about why your food choices matter, and the difference that one person can make. I love the idea that the earth should always be left in a better state than it’s found, and that’s a concept that Nature’s Path embraces wholeheartedly. Check out the video for yourself and get inspired!
To help me celebrate National Organic Week, Nature’s Path and some of Canada’s other most popular organic brands put together a fabulous package to help me experience the organic difference. From coffee and soup to cereal and salad, these organic products taste great and help nourish my family and the earth!
Some of the organic brands were ones I’ve already tried and loved. Prana Kilimanjaro Organic Deluxe Chocolate Trail Mix is a favourite indulgence for me when I’m looking for a treat, and with nuts, berries and luscious dark chocolate, a little goes a long way. Ethical Bean whole bean coffee is another favourite in our household. I first tried organic coffee when I was in my early twenties and I fell in love at first sip. The coffee from Ethical Bean reminds me why. The flavour and complexity of an organic blend is unparalleled. Of course, I was happy to see Nature’s Path Coconut Chia Granola in the package too; it makes the best breakfast!
Other brands in the package were brand new to me, but I was excited to give them a try! I had the Amy’s Kitchen Lentil Vegetable Soup for lunch the same day I opened the box and it was as close to homemade lentil soup as I’ve ever had. Filling and packed with vegetables, it was the perfect quick and healthy lunch on a busy day. The Manitoba Harvest Organic Hemp Hearts were another new find I loved immediately. I’ve been sprinkling the protein-packed morsels on everything from salad to yogurt and the results are always delicious. And my boys both swooned over the Camino Simply Dark Hot Chocolate!
