It’s hard for me to believe that 2017 is flying by so quickly, but in just a few more days it will be Canada’s 150th birthday celebration! There are all kinds of ways people love to celebrate Canada Day and over the years, I’ve tried most of them. Heading out on the lake for a day of boating, hosting friends in the backyard for a barbeque, joining in a large public celebration in the nearest city…choosing my favourite way to spend July 1 is like choosing my favourite thing about Canada: pretty much impossible!
But no matter how I decide to spend the day, a cold drink always makes it even better. And luckily for me, McDonald’s Summer Drink Days is on right now, just in time for Canada Day fun! With all the most popular drinks available for just $1 or $2, staying cool while you celebrate has never been so affordable.
When McDonald’s Canada added its creamy and delicious McCafe Premium Roast Iced Coffee to the Summer Drink Days menu, I became hooked! Over the years, the menu has expanded even further so that there really is something for everyone, and there’s no better day than Canada Day to treat yourself to something frosty cold and delicious!
For the classic soda lovers, any size of fountain drink is available for just $1. A small or medium McCafe Premium Roast Iced Coffee is only $1 as well. And those in need of some extra chill can even get a $1 small Frozen Lemonade! Looking for something a little fancier? Grab a small Real Fruit Smoothie in any flavour, including the limited time Strawberry Mango Orange, for just $2. Or try a small Coffee or Vanilla Chai Iced Frappe for $2 instead!
Since this will be our first Canada Day in Saskatoon, I’m looking forward to checking out all the different activities around the city. From children’s activities to food trucks to live music, there will be plenty to keep us entertained. And with McDonald’s Summer Drink Days, we’ll be refreshed from dawn until dusk too! The medium McCafe Caramel Iced Coffee has been my go-to during Summer Drink Days for ages, but this year I have a feeling the Vanilla Chai Iced Frappe might just become my new favourite.
I have no doubt that Canada’s 150th birthday is going to be a celebration to remember and personally, I’ll be starting the day with my beloved iced coffee for just a dollar. And if the weather cooperates, we’ll be stopping for a few frozen lemonade breaks throughout the day too! From coast to coast and country to city, celebrating Canada Day is more fun with a favourite drink in hand. Grab yours for just a dollar or two during Summer Drink Days at McDonald’s!
