Kids Are Always Picture Perfect and Ready to Play with Peekaboo Beans

November 19, 2016 by Kathryn 33 Comments

When it comes to clothes for kids, there’s no shortage of options these days. Boys and girls alike can head to school sporting anything from discount finds to designer brands. As a fashion fan, I’ve splurged on my fair share of trendy threads for Zackary and Benjamin. But there was always something missing from any clothing I chose. Stylish looks lacked comfort. Comfortable clothes wore out too quickly. And perhaps worst of all, the bulk of the clothing I purchased was mass produced in factories that used harsh chemicals and dyes in the manufacturing process.

Then last Christmas, Peekaboo Beans offered me the chance to review a few of its clothing items and from the second my hand touched the thick, durable fabric of the clothes, I fell in love. Less than a year later, I’ve had the chance to become Peekaboo Beans’ newest brand ambassador and I couldn’t be happier about the opportunity.

When it comes to Peekaboo Beans clothing, detail is everything. Founder and mother Traci Costa believes that comfort, style and eco-friendliness should be a priority when it comes to children’s clothing and when she couldn’t find clothes that were up to her standards, she created Peekaboo Beans. These clothes are hands-down the highest quality children’s wear I’ve ever found. And best of all, my boys love the clothing just as much! [Read more…]

Try Coffee That Will Start Your Engine with Freshly Roasted Driven Coffee-Giveaway

February 22, 2016 by Kathryn 173 Comments

Even though I’ve loved a good cup of coffee ever since I was a teenager, it wasn’t until my late twenties that I realized just how much of a difference there could be between a basic store brand and a freshly roasted quality brand of coffee beans. Once I tasted the difference, I soon became a full-on coffee snob. While I do have my favourite blends and brands, I always love discovering new varieties to add to my coffee lineup. So when I had the chance to test out Driven Coffee, I couldn’t wait to see how I liked it.

I chose three different varieties to review: Papua New Guinea, Fair Trade Organic Mexico Sierra Azul and Impact Espresso Blend. I tend to favour dark roasts, but wanted to try a medium blend as well to get a better feel for the company’s variety. The coffee is available either as whole beans or pre-ground and since I believe the best flavour comes from freshly ground coffee, I chose the whole bean coffee to test. I loved learning that it was roasted in small batches just before being shipped out to maximize freshness!

When the coffee arrived, the smell had me drooling before I’d even opened the box. I popped two of the bags in the freezer to ensure the beans stayed fresh and opened the Papua New Guinea coffee for my first taste-test. It had a nice medium strength and body with a very smooth flavour. I liked the way the coffee was distinctive at the first sip, yet didn’t overpower. It was a perfect breakfast blend to kick start my day!

Peekaboo Beans Clothing Will Have Kids Excited about Clothes for Christmas

December 21, 2015 by Kathryn Leave a Comment

It’s a sad but true fact that even the most fashion-loving child often has a hard time getting excited about clothes at Christmas. With so many cool new toys, video games and treats filling store shelves, a new shirt or pair of pants just doesn’t seem as exciting by comparison. Unless, that is, the clothing is Peekaboo Beans clothing!

Peekaboo Beans is children’s clothing designed with children in mind. In addition to looking great, this clothing feels great too! Thick, comfortable fabric, easy-to-zip zippers and tagless designs combine to make the fashions clothes that kids actually get excited about! Recently Peekaboo Beans sent my boys each a new outfit so I could experience the clothing’s difference for myself.

August 31, 2012 by Kathryn 84 Comments

Looking for a snack with a crunch that packs a nutritional punch? Something salty, tangy and bursting with flavour? You’re looking for Matt & Steve’s The Extreme Bean! I have to admit, I had never heard of this particular snack before, but it sounded intriguing. So when I got the chance to try all three varieties of Matt & Steve’s The Extreme Bean snacks, I leaped at the chance.

the extreme bean and b'noliveThe Extreme Bean is no ordinary green bean. These long, tender beans are pickled in a special brine to create an addictive snack that has real nutritional value. One serving contains 30% of your daily calcium!

I tried The Extreme Bean Hot & Spicy variety first and to be honest, I didn’t expect them to blow me away. I don’t mind a bit of spice every once in a while, but I usually prefer milder flavours. The beans surprised me though; while they did have a distinctive bite, the blend of flavours was really appealing. My husband, who does love spicy food, was the one that really fell in love with this variety of The Extreme Bean, though. He polished off a whole jar on his own one evening for a snack! But in addition to making great snacks, these tasty beans are also delicious popped in a Caesar instead of celery! [Read more…]
