Treat Summer’s Bites, Bumps and Bruises with Homeopathic Remedies from Orange Naturals #ONatural

August 2, 2015 by Kathryn 30 Comments

I love almost everything about summer, but it does cause some extra challenges when it comes to keeping my kids healthy and happy. Days spend outdoors are fun but they result in plenty of bug bites, bruises and scrapes as well! This year, I’ve been turning to products from Orange Naturals to help treat my boys’ minor injuries and with the brand new Orange Naturals creams, it’s easier than ever to get back to outdoor fun!

The new topical creams feature a nourishing base of coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax, and are offered in Bites and Stings, Joint Relief, Pain Relief and Burn Relief formulas. Personally, I love the Pain Relief for treating the many bruises that both my boys and I seem to constantly collect. Knowing they’re receiving some tender loving care calms down my boys immediately, and the cream then minimizes pain over the next few days as the bruise heals! [Read more…]

Snacking is a Blast with Twistos Snack Bites and New Twistos Crackers-Giveaway

April 17, 2013 by Kathryn 152 Comments

Last year my family had the chance to review the brand new Twistos Snack Bites. They were crispy and light little morsels of deliciousness that I absolutely loved. And with flavours like Asiago, Bruschetta and Parmesan & Garlic, I couldn’t help but want to hide the bags away for myself! Unfortunately, the boys loved the Twistos just as much as I did, so I reluctantly shared my new favourite snack!

I received a review package packed with Twistos Snack Bites and Twistos Crackers and the boys and I enjoyed snacking heaven for days afterwards.

As a fan of Twistos Snack Bites already, I just had to test out the new flavour before I did anything else. Twistos Balsamic Vinegar & Olive Oil is hands-down my new favourite flavour. I love the rich, tangy, slightly sweet taste of balsamic vinegar and it pairs with the light crispiness of the snack bites wonderfully. I still do enjoy the original flavours, but the new variety of Twistos has won top honours in my heart. [Read more…]

Allan Candy Dessert Bites Pack Big Dessert Flavour into Small Chewy Candies

May 16, 2012 by Kathryn 4 Comments

Strawberry shortcake, key lime pie, chocolate raspberry cheesecake, apple pie…no, I’m not reading the dessert menu at a restaurant! If you love scrumptious desserts like these but don’t have the time to make them yourself, you’ll love new Dessert Bites from Allan Candy!

These little morsels pack all the flavour of some of the world’s most popular desserts into a tasty bite-sized candy that you can enjoy any time of the day! I received a bag of each variety of Dessert Bites to test out and I was curious to see if the taste could really measure up to that of my favourite desserts.

I have to say, from the very first bite I was more impressed than I expected to be. From the cross-section of the candies that’s featured on the bag, I expected a hard candy shell exterior, something I’m not a big fan of. But the exterior was actually a creamy candy coating that melted in the mouth after a few minutes and it was positively delicious!

The candies did have a noticeable dessert flavour and the Strawberry Shortcake variety became my especial favourite. I found the Apple Pie variety had the most realistic flavour. And despite the fact that any variety of cheesecake is pretty much irresistible in my books, the Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake candies were the ones I wasn’t all that crazy about. I guess in my mind, there’s just no substitute for the real, calorie-laden thing where cheesecake is concerned!

Of course, my sugar-loving husband and boys enjoyed these candies even more than I did and it was only with a great degree of difficulty that I managed to make the bags last more than two days. The whole family liked being able to have a few candies at any time. And it was great to enjoy the taste of dessert without having any dishes to wash up afterwards!

If you love these classic desserts, why not give new Allan Candy Dessert Bites a try and see what you think? You may find that enjoying the taste of rich and creamy cheesecake or cinnamon-scented apple pie is as easy as popping a bite-sized candy into your mouth!
