Breeze Through Your Holiday Shopping with the YP ShopWise App

November 13, 2014 by Kathryn 44 Comments

If there’s one time of the year that’s hard to stay organized, it’s the holidays. Between stocking up on festive food, shopping for gifts and taking advantage of some of the awesome deals available, shopping during the holidays is lots of fun, but it can also be pretty frantic! This year, the YP ShopWise app from Yellow Pages is determined to make the holiday shopping experience as pleasant as possible, and the app is now available on Android and Blackberry as well as iOS!

I had the chance to test out the app for myself recently to see what it was like. Getting it set up was as easy as could be. I simply downloaded the free app, opened it up and gave it permission to use my location so that I could find deals close to me. Then I was ready to start exploring! I started by clicking the “Nearby” tab at the front. By zooming in, I could find all the deals currently in my area. I was immediately impressed by the variety of deals that were displayed; I was able to access deals at businesses ranging from fast food restaurants to jewellery stores! [Read more…]

Finding Inspiration to Change the World at We Day Saskatchewan with Telus-Giveaway

November 15, 2013 by Kathryn 155 Comments

I think almost everyone feels insignificant at some point, as if their actions couldn’t possibly make a difference in the world. But when one spark ignites to inspire hundreds, then the smallest actions can have a big impact on the world. Craig Kielburger is the perfect example of that philosophy. At just twelve years of age, he read a story about child slavery and was inspired to take action. He talked to his teacher, stood up in front of his class and ignited the spark that would grow to become Free the Children, an international charity and educational partner that operates in 45 different countries.

But his work didn’t stop there! As a believer that youth would be the ones that change the world, Craig and his brother Mark joined together in initiatives that would both better the world and inspire young people to make a difference. One of the brothers’ most well-known and inspiring achievements was the founding of We Day, the national celebration of youth leaders in the community. Last year, We Day came to Saskatchewan for the very first time. And this year the event returned once more to celebrate and inspire the 16,000 youth in attendance.

Add Antioxidants To Your Summer Drinks with Tasty Recipes from TrueBlue and TrueBlack Juices-Giveaway

August 9, 2012 by Kathryn 89 Comments

trueblue bottlesAh summer! The time of outdoor gatherings, family vacations, seasonal menus and refreshing beverages! I love a sparkling cold drink in the summertime, but I’ve never been a fan of what too much soda does to my teeth or my waistline! So when I received a package of TrueBlue and TrueBlack beverages along with some fun summer recipes that packed the power of superfruits, I was excited to give them a try.

I received four varieties of juice to test out and they looked so good that my boys and I just poured the first two bottles over ice and drank them down! TrueBlue and TrueBlack juices are available in TrueBlue Wild Blueberry, TrueBlue Wild Blueberry Lemonade, TrueBlack Blackberry and TrueBlack Black Currant varieties and are made in small batches with premium ingredients. They are also free of additives, preservatives, filler juices and artificial flavours.

Before we gave into temptation and finished every bottle, I knew I had to try one of the scrumptious-looking drink recipes so I decided to make the TrueBlue Party Punch. I loved that it was non-alcoholic so that my boys and I could both enjoy it! [Read more…]
