As a Saskatchewan woman, I am a huge fan of lentils not just for their flavour and nutritional benefits but also because Saskatchewan is the world’s largest exporter of lentils. I may be slightly prejudiced, but in my opinion, they’re one of the most perfect foods in existence, providing fibre, protein, folate and iron while also being a great vegetarian option and incredibly reasonably priced.
But even though lentils are a staple in my kitchen, I’m still always looking for new ways to cook with them and luckily for me, celebrity chef Michael Smith recently went travelling around the world to track down the very best lentil recipes in his new web series, Lentil Hunter!
From Morocco to Italy and India to France, Chef Michael Smith found all kinds of lentil delicacies that I can’t wait to try.
