Elsa and Anna are back and taking part in all new adventures in the highly anticipated Frozen 2! And the movie is now available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download, just in time for family fun before spring arrives!
My middle son is a big fan of Frozen and is even currently in the midst of preparing to perform in a Frozen Jr. musical at his school. So when I got the chance to review Frozen 2, he couldn’t wait to check it out. Here’s a brief synopsis:
When my oldest son was just a toddler, he fell in love with the spunky and speed-driven Lightning McQueen when Disney’s Cars hit theatres. A few years later, his little brother learned about Lighting and his friends in Cars 2. (And he still says Mater is his favourite!)

I’m a sucker for re-watching the classic Disney movies I loved as a child but with two boys in the house, I’ve found that most of my favourite fairy tales about princesses don’t go over so well with them. So, I’m always excited when a Disney classic that has a more boy-friendly story is remastered and introduced to the children of today. That’s why I was ready for family movie night as soon as I heard that Disney’s Pinocchio: The Signature Collection had just been released on Blu-ray and DVD! Here’s a brief synopsis:

There are some children’s movies that I watch only because my boys want to see them, and there are others that get me just as excited as my kids. This year, of all the children’s movies coming to theatres, Disney’s The Jungle Book was the one I most couldn’t wait to see. In fact, if I hadn’t been able to find a good time to take my boys to the movie, I would have gone on my own. When we headed to the theatre, I was bouncing with excitement. My fiancé and I love taking our boys to the movies every month or so as a treat, and this year there have been plenty of movies to choose from! Some are ones we know we’ll enjoy as much as the kids. Others we watch only because Zackary and Benjamin want to see them so badly. And still others are movies that we know nothing about…but that end up surprising us with how entertaining they are! This year, Zootopia was one of those movies. Jeremy and I weren’t sure what to expect, but we enjoyed it every bit as much as the boys did. So when I got the chance to review the Blu-ray/DVD release of the film, I was thrilled. Here’s a brief synopsis:

While Zootopia is very entertaining to watch, what I love about it even more is the way it deals with very current themes of prejudice towards others and the damage that a culture of fear can create in our society. The premise of carnivores losing control of themselves was something that divided the city of Zootopia in a very destructive way. It was through support and acceptance of one another, and through two unlikely heroes becoming partners, that the city was able to thrive and become the best that it could be. [Read more…]
