It seems like just when I’ve finished my Christmas shopping, I have to reach into my purse once more to buy enough trinkets and treasures to fill stockings for my boys and my husband. But filling a stocking doesn’t have to cost a fortune, so this year I’m on the hunt for fun and practical stocking stuffers for the whole family.

By keeping stocking items more sensible, I know I’ll be able to keep the family budget in check and give some truly useful items at the same time. Here’s a list of some of the best ideas for stocking stuffers from Church & Dwight that are both practical and affordable.

4 Important Family Calendar Reminders for Parents to Schedule

March 14, 2017 by Kathryn 33 Comments

One of my favourite things about living in Saskatchewan is getting to skip the whole hassle and annoyance of Daylight Savings Time. No worries about being late for appointments, forgetting to change one of the clocks or dealing with grumpy kids that lost an hour of sleep is pure bliss in my opinion!

But even though I’m not changing my clocks, I do have some other household routines that need to be followed! That’s why I’m a big fan of placing a calendar on my fridge and then marking reminders for some important monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly tasks.

Wondering what reminders you should add to your calendar? These four tasks are a great place to start!

The Canadian Dental Association recommends you change your toothbrush every three months. Place a smiley face sticker at the start of every third month of the year to remind you to buy new brushes for your family. Letting kids pick their new toothbrush will make the day almost feel like a special occasion! [Read more…]

February 13, 2017 by Kathryn 93 Comments

It’s a known fact that almost every relationship starts to lose some of its initial passion and romance as time goes on and years go by. While the comfort and security that takes the place of that passion is a great thing, it’s always nice to spice things up and bring some heat back to a relationship once again…especially around Valentine’s Day! 1. Dirty talk, clean space. There’s nothing like hotel or vacation sex. Having sex in a new environment can help us feel more spontaneous or adventuresome. But time and money for a holiday aren’t always available. Recreate vacation sex by making your bedroom your sexual sanctuary. Remove clutter, invest in good sheets and set the mood. Research suggests women, in particular, have a hard time getting aroused in a dirty and messy place. If you want to make the night extra memorable, introduce a vibrator for her like the Trojan™ Power Wand Vibrations Massager. Let the talk be dirty, and the room be clean – your sex life will thank you.
