Going Back to School is Better with a Mexican Breakfast Pizza Recipe

August 6, 2015 by Kathryn 170 Comments

The school year is fast approaching and I’m already starting to plan out some easy and delicious meals for the busy school season. While I tend to stick to fairly basic sandwiches and snacks for the most part, I like having some fun and creative meal ideas at the ready as well.

And that’s especially true for breakfast! Even though my boys love their cereal, they also love heartier options in the morning and since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I want to make sure that they head out the door feeling satisfied.

This year, Ozery’s Pita Break is helping with that thanks to its extensive variety of delicious and healthy Morning Rounds and OneBun products. I recently received a variety of products to create a tasty back-to-school recipe, so I decided to combine a few kid-friendly favourites into one quick and easy breakfast idea: a Mexican Breakfast Pizza recipe! Dairy-Free Mushroom and Red Pepper Frittata with Almond Breeze Makes a Better Breakfast

March 23, 2015 by Kathryn 31 Comments

Just over one month ago I received a fabulous Almond Breeze package to help me embrace better health in 2015. One of my top health challenges has been eating breakfast each morning and I was sure that Almond Breeze would help me conquer that goal. It made such delicious morning smoothies that eating breakfast was suddenly no longer a chore!

But after awhile I realized that I did start to tire of eating the same breakfast each and every day. So I decided to put my creativity to work and see if I could create a savoury Almond Breeze breakfast alternative. I couldn’t have been happier with the results after cooking up a dairy-free Mushroom and Red Pepper Frittata!

December 16, 2014 by Kathryn 73 Comments

One of the things I love about potatoes is how versatile they are, and there’s just no better potatoes than the ones from Little Potato Company when I’m in the mood for something hearty and delicious. These Canadian-grown potatoes are tender, quick to prepare and can be used to make all kinds of tasty dishes. Personally, I’m a big fan of breakfast for dinner so when I received a variety of potatoes from Little Potato Company and was challenged to cook with them, I decided to whip up an easy and delicious Potato and Onion Frittata!

Share the Story of a #GoodEgg You Know with Egg Farmers of Canada-Giveaway

November 25, 2013 by Kathryn 209 Comments

We all know somebody that’s just an all-around great person. Living in a small town, there’s no shortage of kind and caring people in my life, but my neighbours Bill and Joan are two of those people that just stand out as being wonderful. They’re always willing to help out others and often go out of their way to make a person’s day a little brighter. For example, every Halloween they make special treat bags filled with toys and candy especially for Zackary and Benjamin. There’s no doubt that they’re Good Eggs!

Egg Farmers of Canada is celebrating other Good Eggs around the country this month and sharing their stories. One #GoodEgg they know is Wendy Burns. The Burns family are 7th generation egg farmers from Prince Edward Island. Wendy and her husband Nathan take great pride in producing fresh, local high-quality eggs for their community. With four children – Mallory, Kendall, Mitchell and Shelby, there is always something going on at the Burns farm! [Read more…]
