Recently while I was on a business trip, my oldest son and his cousin went to the movie theatre to watch the new animated feature from the creators of Ice Age and Rio, Epic. Zackary couldn’t stop talking about the movie afterwards and after his colourful descriptions I have to admit that I was rather excited to see it for myself. Luckily, the movie was recently released on Blu-ray and DVD and I was delighted when I received a copy to review. Here’s a brief synopsis:
A teenager finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil is taking place. She bands together with a rag-tag group characters in order to save their world — and ours.
I have to admit that I am a huge fan of fantasy fiction, so the plotline of this movie was immediately one that had me intrigued. With faerie folk of all varieties and a teenage heroine on a mission, it was a movie that had plenty of fun moments for my boys and a plot that was complex enough to keep me entertained too. Finding movies that all three of us like is difficult, but Epic was perfect for our family. [Read more…]
