Show Star Style with COVERGIRL TruBlend and trunaked Cosmetics-Giveaway #PGMom

February 23, 2016 by Kathryn 234 Comments

A few months ago, I took my makeup kit with me to a movie set for a bit part I was playing. When the shooting was done, I quickly packed all my gear and headed back to Moose Jaw. I didn’t realize until reaching home that my makeup had been left behind and when I learned of the loss, I was devastated. I’m picky about makeup and had assembled my collection of favourites after years of work.

Luckily, COVERGIRL came to my rescue with some of its hottest new products to have me looking red carpet-ready when I head to the theatre to watch my film debut! The newest products are universally flattering, go from day to night with ease and make it easy for even the busiest mom to create a glamorous look in a flash. Looking for tips that will have you feeling like a superstar? COVERGIRL has some step-by-step advice just for you!

Your Fall Makeup Look Can Last All Day with COVERGIRL Outlast-Giveaway #PGMoms

September 22, 2015 by Kathryn 182 Comments

Fall is always a busy time of year for a parent, and that’s especially true for me this year. My boys are riding a school bus for the first time, which means an early morning drive every day to get them to the bus stop on time. Then I spend my day on everything from vehicle repair appointments to dentist visits to grocery shopping. In between, I’m working as much as possible before it’s time to drive to pick up the boys one more.

Needless to say, I simply don’t have time to be touching up my makeup every few minutes. But I still want to look polished and pulled together as I’m rushing around town. That’s why COVERGIRL Outlast products are a must for my makeup regime! From foundation to lipstick, these cosmetics help ensure my great makeup look lasts all day.

When I was just a child, my grandmother died of breast cancer. I remember hearing some time later that I had a one in eight chance of getting breast cancer myself as a result, and that my mother had a one in two chance of the same thing. While new studies have shown that’s not true and that only 5-10% of breast cancers are hereditary, it’s something that worried me in younger years.

Cancer is one of those diseases that has affected almost everyone at some point, whether from personal experience or from the struggles of a family member or friend. And if you’re looking for a way to show support for loved ones battling the disease, the Shoppers Drug Mart OneWalk to Conquer Cancer is a fun way to be part of a game-changing movement to conquer cancer.

Support Children’s Literacy Through the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation by Voting for Your Favourite Children’s Book-Giveaway

January 31, 2015 by Kathryn 148 Comments

When I was a child, I had a huge collection of books. Some were gifts from family, some were ones I purchased and some were books of my mom’s from her own childhood years. But even so, I was such an avid reader that I usually also had a huge stack of books that I’d brought home from the school library.

As hard as it is for me to believe, it’s likely that some of the same books I brought home from that library are still there today. The average age of a book in some Canadian school libraries is 15 years, which is already long considering how often the books are read, but some are kept much longer than that. And often books are repaired with tape and staples to keep them in circulation because there’s no budget for new copies.

That’s why for the last ten years the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation has supported underfunded schools to help encourage literacy and learning. And to celebrate its tenth anniversary, the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation has a very special contest that will help put the most beloved books of all time in libraries across Canada! October 3, 2014 by Kathryn 256 Comments

With the arrival of fall comes a return to routine and that can sometimes leave moms and kids both feeling a little worn out. Early morning activities, late night study sessions…it’s not always easy putting your best face forward during the busy autumn season, especially if you got a little less sleep than you expected!

And any mom with a teenage daughter knows that looking pulled together and well-rested is just as important to a young girl too. In fact I remember that when I was teenager, one of my favourite things about the back-to-school season was stocking up on new skincare and makeup products! This year, P&G has an assortment of tips and new products from Olay, COVERGIRL and Secret that will help teenage and adult women sail through the busiest school days looking and feeling great. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or your daughter, you’re sure to discover a few favourites for fall!
