My boys and I love stuffed animals, and between the three of us we have hundreds of plush toys. Even my husband has a few stuffed animals of his own! Our household contains tons of teddy bears, plenty of puppies and heaps of horses. We even have unique animals like boars, octopuses, penguins and moose in our collection. But when I learned about JUMBiES, sweet little stuffies that combine two animals into one unique new critter, I knew that our house had room for a few new plush toys. I couldn’t wait to see what these funny fellows looked like!
JUMBiES come with a great little back-story explaining their origins. One day, when overworked storks were rushing around delivering animal babies around the world, there was a confused muddle and the storks crashed into one another. The animal babies all jumbled together as a result of the crash, and the JUMBiES were created. I liked the way that the story ended with the storks moving all the JUMBiES to JUMBiELAND to live until the storks can find a caring boy or girl to adopt one.
I received the Moosecow and the Blabbit to review. The Moosecow is fairly self-explanatory, a cross between a moose and a cow. It features large moose horns and a somewhat sturdy moose-like body combined with the black and white spots and udders of a cow. It was, to be honest, completely goofy looking, but both boys thought the Moosecow was great and happily paraded it around the house.
The Blabbit was my favorite of the two JUMBiES I received, a cross between a Bluebird and a Rabbit. The fluffy rabbit tail, big rabbit feet and long floppy ears combined so adorably with the bright blue body, wings and beak to create a character that was as charming as he was original.
JUMBiES come with a Sand Dollar pog and mini JUMBiE comic book and are fun collectibles that any stuffed animal fan will enjoy. They are about six inches tall and have bead-stuffed bodies, making them a great size for collectors and for small children. There are a total of twelve different JUMBiES so far in combinations that range from adorable to downright odd, so no matter what kind of preferences your child has, he’ll most likely be able to find a Jumbie that suits him. There’s even a Tyrannosaurus and Ram JUMBiE for dinosaur enthusiasts!
I really enjoyed adding the JUMBiES to our family, and both boys are fond of them as well. Zackary uses the plush toys in all kinds of different make-believe stories and Benjamin loves the great size of these little toys since they’re perfect for his small hands. JUMBiES are a fun and unique stuffed animal that will captivate children and adults alike. Check them out for yourself!
