October 20, 2020 by Kathryn 7 Comments

mommy kat and kids RP

When fall hits and colder temperatures start to keep my boys indoors a little more, I love finding some new toys that will encourage them to play creatively…preferably without a screen!

And this year, with most kids having done months of online schooling, finding screen-free ways to engage little ones is even more important! Luckily, these five new toys offer something for everyone!

Add Extra Fun To Your Toddler’s Time Outside with the Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse

September 24, 2019 by Kathryn 3 Comments

My toddler has loved spending time outside since he first learned to walk. And in what feels like no time, he’s gone from wobbling unsteadily across the yard to climbing, jumping, sliding and running!

I want to make sure that Cormac continues to enjoy his time outside, so I’m always on the lookout for fun new outdoor toys he might enjoy. And recently, Little Tikes helped me out by sending me its adorable Cape Cottage Playhouse to review!

Cormac has always been a natural mimic. He’s helped me cook in the kitchen since he was old enough to stand on a chair beside me, he loves putting on his dad’s hat and carrying his keys to go to “work,” and he’s always excited to grab the mop and broom out of the pantry to do some cleaning. Winter is More Fun with New Play Sets from Playmobil-Giveaway

March 15, 2018 by Kathryn 86 Comments

One of the things that I love most about Playmobil is how the company has a play set to suit every child’s interests. From camping sets to hockey rinks, children can create fun scenarios about all their favourite activities. In fact, the first Playmobil set my animal-loving middle son ever owned was a horse and stable set that he chose and bought with his birthday money!

OF course, with snow still covering the ground and ski season in full swing, winter-themed play sets are pretty popular right now. And so, I was thrilled when my boys got the chance to review the brand new Playmobil Ski Lodge set!

Kids Love Sailing the Seas with the Thomas & Friends Adventures Sea Monster Pirate Set

November 1, 2017 by Kathryn 21 Comments

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Mattel Canada. All opinions are 100% mine.

When my youngest brother was a toddler, he loved watching Thomas, the plucky tank engine, and his friends as the got into mischief and had adventures on the Island of Sodor. When I had my own boys years later, I had the chance to see how Thomas had evolved for a new generation with the debut of the Thomas & Friends series.

I’m sure that Thomas will continue to be a favourite for years to come, and that’s why I was so excited to receive the new Thomas & Friends Adventures Sea Monster Pirate Set to review. My eight-year-old son loves creating stories with playsets and I knew he would have a blast with this one. [Read more…]
