Give Your Kids the Gift of Creativity with Kiwi Crate Subscription Boxes

December 4, 2014 by Kathryn 56 Comments

With so many gift options consisting of tech devices, video games or battery-operated toys, it can be hard to really encourage creativity and imagination in kids when choosing Christmas presents. But those gifts that let kids build, use their hands and learn are often the most popular ones and that’s why Kiwi Crate has made it a mission to let kids experience that joy of creation in a very unique way.

I recently received a Kiwi Crate and a Tinker Crate for my boys to review and I couldn’t wait to check them out. [Read more…]

Show Hockey Moms They Matter with The House That Mom Build Website-Giveaway

March 23, 2014 by Kathryn 147 Comments

Being a hockey mom is not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of dedication, sacrifice and time to have a child in minor hockey and P&G knows that. A hockey mom is carpool queen, tournament manager, official cheerleader and after-game snack maker all rolled into one. A few of my favourite women are hockey moms and I know from how busy they are just how much commitment it takes. These women often have virtually no time to themselves because every spare minute is spent either getting kids ready to hit the ice or cheering on their youngsters at the rink. That’s why P&G wants to help out hockey moms everywhere with some great tips for helping parents survive hockey season with a smile!

Minimize Cellulite at Home with the New Riiviva Celluite Kit-Giveaway

March 21, 2014 by Kathryn 165 Comments

Last year I discovered the benefits of microdermabrasion and after reviewing the Riiviva home microdermabrasion device, I also learned how easy and inexpensive it can be to do at home. The process removes dead skin cells and stimulates skin renewal to help minimize wrinkles and fade age spots. Now, Riiviva is revolutionizing skincare again with a convenient and inexpensive way to battle cellulite!

The new system features Cellulite and Cellubrasion heads that fits on the standard Riiviva microdermabrasion device and have a special massaging feature that uses suction and massage to lift and stretch the septae ligaments under the skin’s surface. Combined with the Cellulite Body Creme, it provides women with an effective and affordable way of reducing cellulite in the comfort of their own homes.

One of the most foolproof gifts for a handyman is new tools and coming from a family that has a talent for DIY, home renovating and mechanics, it’s one of the reasons tools are often on my Christmas list. Ryobi tools are one of the brands that I always know will be well-received, and with good reason! The company specializes in offering professional-quality tools at affordable prices so that home renovators and do-it-yourself fans can get the great performance they want without spending a fortune.

Shake Off that Dinnertime Rut with Old El Paso #YouMexiCAN

August 15, 2013 by Kathryn 3 Comments

I love to cook and I tend to be quite creative when I do. From vegetarian lasagne to shrimp curry to ginger beef, I love finding a few favourite dishes from all different styles of cuisine and then tweaking them until they’re just the way I want. Unfortunately, my boys are picky eaters and invariably refuse to eat anything that I’ve cooked when supper arrives. “I don’t like that,” is a common refrain in our household and it drives me absolutely crazy!

As a result, I’ve found myself stuck in a dinnertime rut and it’s not one that I’m happy about. Instead of the fun and exotic dishes I want to create, I tend to stick to kid-friendly basics like spaghetti and hot dogs. After all, what’s the point of working so hard to make a fancy and delicious meal when I’m the only one that’s going to be eating it?
