Three Orange Naturals Products to Maximize Men’s Health #ONatural

One of the main reasons I’ve managed to improve my own health lately is because of my fiancé. He’s been passionate about his well-being and when I see him running every day, doing yoga and coming up with tasty and healthy meal ideas, it’s only natural that I join in as well. He turned thirty this year and so his body’s health requirements are starting to change a bit. Luckily, Orange Naturals is there for him with products to help him feel his best for years to come! 3 Simple Daily Habits to Improve Overall Health

About six months ago, I officially reached the point of being in the worst shape of my life. I’d moved from a small town to a small city and as a result, I was suddenly driving everywhere instead of walking. I was having a few too many glasses of wine on the weekend, and then eating way too much when I’d lost my usual restraint. And to top all that off, I was also sleeping less since my boys had a long bus ride to school and I had to be up at six to make their lunches and get them ready to leave.

After coasting along unhealthily for a few months, I knew it was time to make a change. But I also knew that if I tried anything too drastic, I wouldn’t stick with it. So a few months ago, I added some simple, easy-to-maintain habits to my daily life. And while I obviously haven’t had amazing and drastic results, I have lost weight and inches, I have more energy and I finally feel like myself again. Make 2016 the Best Year Yet with Orange Naturals-Giveaway #ONatural

I’ve never really been one to make New Year’s resolutions because I find that so often they’re approached with an “all or nothing” mentality. Instead, I set a few goals that I can work towards throughout the year, then evaluate my success when the year ends. I try to set goals for all the different aspects of my life: career, family, travel and health.

This year, with my 35th birthday just a few weeks away, health is a big focus for the upcoming year. Since moving to a city townhouse, my daily walks to run errands and take my boys to school have been eliminated. And that means my exercise level has gone way down. Plus, with takeout places now just minutes away, I’ve been eating out a little more than I’d like. So the new year is the perfect time for me to take charge and improve my health once and for all!

First off, I’m committing to exercising three times a week. As much as I’d prefer to set the goal of exercising every day, I think that trying to do too much too soon is likely to lead to giving up on the entire idea. But three days of doing a half-hour walk on the treadmill followed by half an hour of yoga is an easier commitment that I know I’ll be able to maintain. [Read more…]

Helping Broken Bones Heal Faster with 3 Simple Tips #ONatural

I’ve never had a broken bone in my life and up until just a week ago, neither had either of my boys. But last Friday, I got an unexpected call from the school letting me know that my oldest son had been hurt on the playground and couldn’t move his arm. I rushed to the school, took Zackary to the hospital and soon discovered that both of his wrist bones were broken. Now, Zackary is in a cast for about a month and of course, my goal is to ensure that he heals as fast as possible. One of the things I was most surprised to learn is that plenty of protein is one of the most important aspects of healing a broken bone. Because bones are made of living protein, getting enough each day is essential in helping a broken bone heal. Additionally, adequate amounts of calcium, zinc, magnesium, Vitamin C and Vitamin D are a must for rebuilding strong bones. With Mother’s Day just having passed, moms around Canada finally had the chance to kick back and enjoy some much-needed rest and relaxation. And having recharged a bit myself, I’ve realized that moms have a very common tendency of putting themselves last. But when it comes to being a parent, taking care of ourselves means more time, energy and patience to deal with our kids. A happy, healthy mom makes the entire family stronger!

I’ve always been bad for neglecting my own needs in favour of my boys, but over the last year or so, I’ve really made a conscious effort to change that and the difference in my energy and patience levels have been amazing! In my opinion, these are three things that every mom should be making time for:

Make Time for Breakfast

The importance of breakfast has been proven time and time again, yet still so many women wake up, pour a cup of coffee, make a meal for their children and never take a bite themselves. I was one of the absolute worst culprits for this, even months after making regular breakfast one of my goals. I’ve finally managed to get into the routine thanks to two things: Orange Naturals ND Shake for Women and the MyFitnessPal app. Whipping up a quick shake in the morning is so easy with the help of my immersion blender, a little fruit, some yogurt, milk or even just water. My personal favourite combination is a Chocolate Strawberry Shake made with ½ cup of frozen strawberries, ½ cup of plain yogurt, ½ cup of milk and two scoops of ND Shake for Women Chocolate.
