Preparing Family for Winter Cold and Flus

November 25, 2016 by Kathryn 36 Comments

My mother always told me that I was a very healthy child overall but when I did get sick, I REALLY got sick. I remember some of my worst illnesses from my youth and my mom remembers even more, including an occasion when I had to be rushed to the hospital because I suddenly and inexplicably started convulsing on the floor. The doctors couldn’t explain the cause and it never happened again, but I can only imagine how terrifying that day must have been for my mom.

Now that I’m a parent myself, I’m happy to see that my own boys seem to have taken after me with regards to illnesses. Neither gets sick very often and sometimes we even manage to make it through an entire blustery Saskatchewan winter without so much as a cough or a sniffle. But when my boys do feel under the weather, I’m always ready to help them feel better as best I can!

Personally, I’ve found that having Children’s TYLENOL® and Children’s MOTRIN® in the house is one of the simplest ways to ensure I’m ready to help my boys feel better. Just last winter, Benjamin woke up in the middle of the night hallucinating with a high fever, though he’d gone to sleep feeling fine. He was almost in tears thinking that there were mean people in his room, and my heart hurt for my poor, confused boy. I gave him a dose of Children’s TYLENOL® to bring down the fever and soon his forehead was cool and he was sleeping peacefully once more. [Read more…]

Sooth Swollen Muscles with New Deep Relief Ice Cold Spray-Giveaway

October 1, 2014 by Kathryn 151 Comments

Hunching over a computer all day means that I often deal with neck pain, stiff shoulders and strained muscles. And for quite some time I’ve been using Deep Relief Heat Spray to help relax the muscles and relieve the pain. But there are times when heat therapy isn’t the best choice for pain relief, and that’s why I was curious about the new Deep Relief Ice Cold Spray.

This latest product from Deep Relief offers an icy-cold cooling sensation in a convenient spray bottle to help relieve aches and pains. Cold therapy is especially good for swollen and inflamed muscles since the cooling action reduces blood flow to help relieve swelling, and also numbs the area to help relieve pain.

Five Fun Activities from RUB A535 to Get Your Family Outdoors this Spring

May 14, 2014 by Kathryn 19 Comments

After a long winter and an even longer wait for warmer weather, Saskatchewan is finally starting to get some of that sweet sunshine that I love so much and that means it’s time to head outside! I love being able to get back outdoors again with my boys and be a little more active, but it always amazes me how stiff I get the first few times I spend the day outside. After all, I do walk everywhere, even in the winter, but I guess the activities of spring work different muscles!

Luckily, I always keep plenty of RUB A535 Natural Source Arnica Gel-Cream in my cupboard! This cream is the absolute best for soothing my sore muscles after a long day and is made with 100% naturally sourced Arnica montana! I love the light scent of the cream and it soaks into the skin beautifully with no greasy feel. Even better, RUB A535 Arnica is also great for speeding the healing of children’s bumps and bruises!

Get Relief from Holiday Pain with Rub A535 Triple Action Cream-Giveaway

December 29, 2013 by Kathryn 373 Comments

Even though the holidays are lots of fun, they can sometimes cause a bit of a strain on the body too! With so much hustle, bustle and activity during the holidays, there are all kinds of ways to end up stiff and sore. Even when getting ready for the big day, my muscles were aching after days of running up and down the stairs carrying presents to put under the tree. And that’s just the start of the aches and pains you could face over the holidays! Rub A535 knows how irritating muscle pain can be, and they have a few ideas of their own about the aches and pains you might have encountered over the holidays:

  • You hoped for a white Christmas all month, but now that you’ve gotten one, you have to spend two hours shoveling to get the car out of the driveway. Ouch!
  • You lugged 30 pounds of holiday shopping bags around the mall for four hours because you couldn’t find the perfect gift for (insert impossible to buy-for relative here).
  • The acrobatics of retrieving gifts from various clever hiding places, most of them high up or down low so your sneaky family can’t find them.
  • You proudly served a turkey the size of a small automobile on a single platter, and then had to hold it aloft for ten minutes so photos could be taken.
  • Tripping over sprawled-out loved-ones as they recover from food-coma.
  • The in-laws are coming over to admire the décor and enjoy/judge your cooking. Outwardly, you are calm and collected but if there was any more tension in your shoulders, they would be touching your ears.
  • You are spending the holidays away from home, but your bags (and all of the presents you brought) haven’t made it to your destination.

Relieve Muscle Aches and Pains with New Deep Relief Heat Spray-Giveaway

October 24, 2013 by Kathryn 146 Comments

Sitting in front of a computer all day means that often my shoulders and back get strained from leaning forward over the screen. It doesn’t happen often, but at least once a month I’ll sit in the same position too long or maybe sleep the wrong way at night and have to deal with stiff, aching muscles. I tended to just put up with the pain or occasionally take an ibuprofen if my muscles were really tight. Then Deep Relief came to my rescue with its new Deep Relief Heat Spray.

I loved the idea of a spray for pain relief. One of the reasons I hadn’t used a topical pain reliever was that they often seem to be thick, greasy and difficult to apply. Having the product in a spray made it mess-free and also helped with application in difficult or hard-to-reach areas like the middle of the back. I sprayed the formula on my shoulders and back and waited to see how it worked.
