Save on 3 P&G Products that Provide the Best Value for Your Dollar-Giveaway

May 26, 2016 by Kathryn 186 Comments

When it comes to getting the best value for my money, sometimes the cheapest product isn’t always the best. That value brand of floor cleaner for less than a dollar might seem like the best choice, but if it can’t cut through dirt and mud as well, then I’m going to use more to get jobs done. One of the reasons I’m such a fan of P&G products is because I know how much effort goes into making those products more effective. And that means bigger savings in the long run! Wondering what P&G products are especially worth the extra cost? After many years of testing every product under the sun and trying absolutely everything to save a little extra money, these are three of the P&G products that I’ve found are always worth the extra cost, and why:

Tide Laundry Detergent

A few years ago I visited the Proctor & Gamble Headquarters in Cincinnati and had the chance to tour the fabric care facility. After seeing the amount of work that went into research and development, I understood exactly why Tide out-cleans competitors. The deep-down clean isn’t something that just happens through chance. Fabric fibres are examined at a microscopic level to confirm how well the formula removes dirt and grime…while also protecting those fibres so clothes last longer. No wonder Tide is able to remove everything from grass stains to blood to chocolate! While it does cost more, it saves me in the long run by preserving my clothes. And with P&G Printable coupons, you can save $1 on your purchase of Tide! [Read more…]

Let Kids Get Creative When You Say #YesToTheMess with Help From Swiffer #PGMom

April 14, 2016 by Kathryn 102 Comments

If there’s one universal truth I’ve discovered as a mother of boys, it’s that life with boys is messy! From dirt on the floor to pee on the toilet seat, I’ve pretty much resigned myself to dealing with random messes for the rest of my life. But while some messes are just flat-out gross, others are a lot more tolerable. Cleaning up the spilled chocolate from a kitchen baking session or scraps of paper and foam from a marathon crafting spree is worth the effort considering how much fun my boys have making those messes!

Luckily, cleaning up after my boys has become a lot easier since I discovered Swiffer products! From the handy Swiffer Sweeper for floors to the Swiffer 360 Duster for tables, shelves and more, I can say yes to the mess with Swiffer in my corner. Letting my boys make a mess has led to some pretty amazing creations, including large, colourful paintings and delicious kitchen creations. And since I, like 70% of other Canadian parents, believe that making a mess encourages creativity, I appreciate anything that helps me clean up those messes quickly and thoroughly! [Read more…]

Renew Your Hair for Spring with Vidal Sassoon Salonist Hair Colour-Giveaway

March 23, 2016 by Kathryn 116 Comments

Like most teenage girls, I used to love changing my hair with different at-home colour kits. I usually went red, sometimes added streaks of blonde and even considered going jet black. But then I let a few months pass between colourings shortly after turning twenty, and I remembered what a great natural hair colour I had. At that moment, I decided that I would stop colouring my hair and enjoy my own, natural tresses until my hair started going so grey that I had no choice but to dye it. At that point, I figured, I could go crazy with wild hair colours to my heart’s content.

I managed to fend off those days for quite awhile by yanking out the occasional grey hairs I found but now, at 35, I’m starting to think that I’m doing more damage to my hair by yanking out greys than I would be just dying it again! So I decided to take the plunge and colour my untouched hair for the first time in about 15 years…with a little help from Vidal Sassoon! The company’s new Salonist hair colour promised a salon-quality colouring experience due to a system that treats roots and lengths separately.

Choosing a colour was the biggest first step. I asked my fiance if I should pick a colour that was drastically different, slightly different or as close to my natural colour as possible. He thought that switching my colour up a bit with a slightly different change sounded fun, so I decided to go with a colour that I had a bit of past experience with and picked up two boxes of Vidal Sassoon Salonist Medium Reddish Brown. Every Woman Can Be Ageless with Help from Olay-Giveaway #PGMom

January 18, 2016 by Kathryn 191 Comments

It used to be fairly common for women to dread some of the major age milestones in their lives, whether it was the experience of saying goodbye to young adulthood when turning thirty or officially entering “old age” when turning sixty. But for years now that attitude has been shifting and personally, I couldn’t be happier about it. In fact, 90% of Canadian women believe that age will continue to become less and less relevant to them as time progresses. And that’s the motivation behind the new Olay Ageless campaign. While there may be some aspects of our lives that act as “age giveaways,” feeling young is what’s truly important to today’s women!

On a recent trip to Mexico, I learned that my boys were a bit of an age giveaway for me. When giving a business card to someone on a press trip, a fellow blogger noticed my blog name. “You’re a mother?” he exclaimed in surprise. I said that yes, I had two boys that were (at the time) eight and five. “You must have had them very young,” he said. He was even more surprised when he learned that I hadn’t, and was actually 34 years old. Talk about an ego boost! [Read more…]
