Kick Off the New School Year with New Snacks from Kellogg’s Canada-Giveaway

September 3, 2016 by Kathryn 140 Comments

Once the school year starts, the contents of our cupboards change a bit. Quick and easy breakfasts and snacks become a priority both for my boys and for me personally! And this year, Kellogg’s Canada has some great treats both for the lunchbox and for at home that are sure to please kids and adults alike!

My boys’ personal favourite is the new Kellogg’s Brown Rice Rice Krispies Squares. Made with puffed brown rice, these squares boast eight grams of whole grain per serving, yet still have the classic flavour that kids love. They’re perfect for an after-the-sandwich snack in the lunchbox! [Read more…]

Crunchmaster Crackers and Chips Make Gluten-Free Taste Good-Giveaway

August 18, 2016 by Kathryn 121 Comments

My family has always been a family that loves our snacks, so I like to make sure I always have a good collection of snack foods on hand. Veggies and dip, cheese, deli meat and crackers are so popular in this house that we’ll often have them for lunch instead of a regular meal! And since I’m a huge fan of rice crackers, I was thrilled when I had the chance to review an assortment of Crunchmaster gluten-free crackers and chips. With tons of different flavours to choose from, deciding which one to try first was no easy task!

Since I especially love multigrain and seed products, I decided that the Crunchmaster Multi-Seed Original crackers would be the first ones I tried. I served them as part of a lunch charcuterie with gourmet cheese and my family’s favourite smoked salami. I loved the way the crackers blended with the meat and cheese flavours and the added crunch made this a snack I couldn’t stop eating! [Read more…]

October 15, 2014 by Kathryn 53 Comments

Halloween is fast approaching and I can already sense the excitement in the air as my boys plan their costumes and anticipate the candy spree they’ll soon be enjoying. I must admit that I never pass up any opportunity to celebrate an event and Halloween is one of my favourite holidays to go all-out decorating the yard and making fun treats.

Rice Krispies #TreatsForToys Custom Creations to Support Kids in Need this Christmas

December 19, 2013 by Kathryn 103 Comments

Over the last month, I’ve been helping to spread the word about the Rice Krispies Treats for Toys program. Just create a Rice Krispies Treat toy, upload a picture of it to www.ricekrispies.ca and Kellogg’s Canada will donate $20 to the Salvation Army to help give a child in need a real toy this Christmas! My boys and I have already made some treats following the great instructions provided on the Rice Krispies website. But I couldn’t resist getting creative and whipping up some custom creations too!

I decided to create a treat to symbolize my boys’ favourite toys. Benjamin is a huge fan of stuffed animals and Zackary loves LEGO. So I put together two different recipes to create a Rice Krispies LEGO house and a Rice Krispies teddy bear!

Rice Krispies #TreatsforToys are a Fun Way to Give a Merry Christmas to a Child in Need

November 26, 2013 by Kathryn 44 Comments

One of my favourite activities every Christmas is making holiday treats with my boys. There are some goodies that I whip up myself, but there are others that my boys help me create. We all love spending quality time together and of course, Zackary and Benjamin get very excited about eating their creations afterwards!

This year we added a new item to our usual list of goodies, and it’s one that supports a very special cause! We headed into the kitchen to create special Rice Krispies edible toys for the Treats for Toys campaign. By taking a picture of a treat and uploading it to ricekrispies.ca, Rice Krispies will donate $20 to the Salvation Army to provide a toy to a child in need this Christmas!
