Stay Connected this School Year with the Samsung Galaxy Tab4-Giveaway

August 27, 2014 by Kathryn 544 Comments

With school almost back in session, having the latest tech gear to help stay connected can make life easier for parents and kids both. And this year Samsung has the perfect back-to-school solution for any family with the Samsung Galaxy Tab4 tablet!

This tablet features a vivid WXGA display with a 16:10 screen ratio that makes it perfect for watching videos, playing games and sharing content. And while it’s lightweight enough to take anywhere, it’s also solid enough that you won’t panic when the kids borrow it.

Stay Connected During March Break with Ten Tips from TELUS for Travelling with your Smartphone-Giveaway

March 12, 2014 by Kathryn 405 Comments

March break is here and for many families, that means a trip across the border for a quick vacation or journey to visit family. In fact, one in four Canadians plan to escape winter by taking a trip down south. I love popping down to the United States for a few days of shopping, entertainment or sight-seeing, but I also want to share those moments with family and friends back home. Unfortunately, as soon as we cross the border, high charges for data, calls and texts have me avoiding using my phone at all if possible!

That’s why the Travel Passes from TELUS are so exciting to me. I have an amazing TELUS plan that offers me unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting as well as 4GB of data, more than I’ve ever needed in a month. But crossing into the United States means that the prices for all those phone uses goes up significantly. Now, luckily for me, a TELUS Travel Pass lets me make calls, text and use my data for as little as $25 per trip so that I can still use my phone even when I’m in another country. [Read more…]

Upgrading to the Telus Samsung Galaxy S4

January 28, 2014 by Kathryn 28 Comments

I was a little slow to get on the smartphone bandwagon, but after getting a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone at the end of 2012, I was hooked. I am an Android girl through-and-through and proud of it, though after over a year with my S3, I couldn’t help but think about upgrading. So when Telus gave me the chance to review the new Samsung Galaxy S4, I was eager to it a try.

In all honesty, I didn’t expect much of a difference. I had seen the S4 and aside from being slightly larger and thinner, the basic layout and features seemed to be pretty similar to my current phone. So essentially, I expected I would be reviewing a slightly larger version of the same phone I already used with maybe a few minor tweaks to the interface and features.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is just a little bigger and a little thinner than the S3, but it makes a big difference in the overall feel of the phone.

snugg iphone 5 distressed brown leatherLate last year I upgraded my cell phone from a very outdated Palm Pre 2 to a shiny new Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. I am in love with my new phone but I know that if I want to keep it looking like new, I need a good case! That’s why I was delighted when I got the chance to review The Snugg cell phone cases.

The Snugg cases are designed to provide optimum protection that still feature great style for iPods, iPads, smartphones and eReaders and come with a lifetime guarantee. I received a Snugg Samsung Galaxy S3 case in Black Leather and an iPhone 5 case in Distressed Brown Leather so that I could check the cases out for myself. [Read more…]

Telus Mobility is Proud to be a Part of the First Ever We Day Saskatchewan-Giveaway

January 18, 2013 by Kathryn 257 Comments

we day logoOne of the things that always impresses and amazes me about the youth of today is their passion to create a better world right now. From the current trend of having birthday parties in which charitable donations are collected instead of presents to the many social activism clubs being launched in schools across North America, the desire of our young people to change the world is absolutely inspiring. And since 2007, Free the Children, a youth-driven charity founded by Craig and Marc Kielburger, has rewarded that concept and inspired the youth of North America to achieve even more at annual We Day events.

This year, Telus Mobility is a national sponsor of the event and for the first time ever, We Day is coming to Saskatchewan! What makes this event so special is that tickets to the event aren’t purchased. Instead, they are rewarded to youth activists and youth organizations in the cities in which the events are held. This year, on February 27, 2013, I am being given the chance to attend We Day in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and I can’t wait to gain learning and inspiration not just from the speakers and performers but from the youth of Saskatchewan themselves.
