I am a huge fan of Playtex baby products and I’ve featured many of them here on the site over the years. From easy feeding solutions to convenient diapering options, the company has so many innovative products for a busy mom! Recently Playtex introduced a new line of “Smart” brushes, sterilizers, insulated totes and more that are perfect for moms looking for the easiest ways to feed their babies at home and on the go. And to celebrate, I’ll be hosting a fabulous #PlaytexBabySmart Twitter party and giving away $850 in prizes!
I do not like wasting anything. I’m not obsessively frugal in other ways but seeing food, paper, or anything else wasted is like seeing money being thrown away to me. Money that could pay for a movie night out with my boys or maybe a fun vacation down the road. So I love finding products that understand that feeling and work to find ways for me to waste less.
Recently, Clorox debuted a newly redesigned spray bottle featuring a special Smart Tube® technology that ensures every drop of the cleaner can be used. I know I’m not the only one that tips an almost-empty cleaning bottle back and forth trying to get every bit of the cleaner out and I couldn’t wait to see how the technology works. [Read more…]
It’s Earth Day and there’s no better time of the year to make changes to your life and your household that will help protect the environment for future generations! This year, GE Lighting wants to help you “see the light” when it comes to making your household more eco-friendly. And the best part is that making earth-conscious choices for your household can often result in lower utility bills too!
GE Lighting Bright from the Start energy smart CFL bulbs are the perfect example of how a small change can make a big difference when it comes to minimizing your environmental impact. The bulbs contain a halogen capsule that provides instant brightness on 15 and 20 Watt bulbs and offer an incandescent-like light with CFL savings. In fact, one bulb can last up to 7.3 years, saving $39 in energy over the life of the bulb!
The best part is that the new GE Lighting Bright from the Start bulbs look like regular bulbs and are designed to give off a softer, more diffuse light than traditional CFL bulbs. Finally, you can see your home in its best light and still save money and energy! [Read more…]
Winter in Saskatchewan is very snowy and very cold, so hot and hearty comfort food is always a welcome choice for supper. And because my days are pretty busy, I love whipping up that comfort food with a Crock-Pot slow cooker whenever possible. Throw in the ingredients in the morning, plug it in and my boys and I have a delicious meal to enjoy when suppertime arrives. What could be better?
I have a Crock-Pot Designer Series 6-Quart slow cooker and I absolutely love it but recently I got the chance to review the Crock-Pot Smart-Pot 5-Quart slow cooker and I could see at once that it was going to help me make my slow cooker creations even better. The large oval cooker was perfect for pot roast or a whole chicken but it was a little big for soups, stews or desserts. The smaller round Smart-Pot looked like it would be just the right size for a smaller main course meal for my family. [Read more…]
A few months ago, I was given the chance to update my severely outdated Palm Pre 2 cell phone with a brand new Samsung Galaxy III thanks to Telus Mobility. I was absolutely thrilled and I have been loving the added functionality and entertainment that the phone provides. And my boys are just as happy about this new phone as I am; with tons of games, cartoons and other apps to entertain them, they would literally play on the phone all day if I let them!
In fact, the only downside of my new phone is that since my boys request the chance to use it at least once a day, it is usually sticky and dirty when I actually try to use it. I’m proud of my pretty new phone and constantly having the screen covered in my boys’ fingerprints was so irritating! So when I got the chance to review the KidSafe Smart Phone Cover from VeylProducts.com, I was thrilled. [Read more…]
