4 Steps to a More Blissful Laundry Routine

October 10, 2017 by Kathryn 31 Comments

Disclosure: I have partnered with YMC and OxiClean and have received compensation for this post. All opinions in the post are my own.

There are plenty of blissful things about my day-to-day life, from that first sip of coffee in the morning to the sight of fresh flowers on my kitchen table. But if there’s one thing I’ve never found all that blissful, it’s laundry! With a husband that works with trains, two active boys and a baby, laundry is one of those chores that feels never-ending at times!

Luckily, with a few little tricks, even the most endless and exhausting chores can become a little more blissful! And so, I’ve put together four sure-fire ways to make doing the laundry just a little more fun. It may never be your favourite chore, but these tips will make it a lot more tolerable!

1) Sort and Treat Early On

Trying to cram all the sorting, stain-treating, washing, drying and folding into one day is overwhelming! Instead, break up the jobs to give yourself a bit of a break. Start by sorting clothes and treating stains with OxiClean™ MaxForce™ Foam Pre-Treater. Not only is no scrubbing required, the foam will keep working for days to tackle even the toughest stains. In other words, leaving those clothes for a day or two before washing will actually result in cleaner clothes! [Read more…]

Treat Your Clothes to the Best with Tide Ultra Stain Release

If there’s one thing every parent knows, it’s that when it comes to kids, summer and stains go hand in hand. From the inevitable grass and mud stains on pants to sticky smudges from ice cream or freeze pops, summer fun means summer mess with active kids in the house!

Luckily, I have a secret weapon for ensuring even the dirtiest clothes come out of the washer looking like new: Tide Ultra Stain Release!

This detergent is my do-it-all superhero when dealing with really tough stains and the secret is all in the cap. A clever design lets me use the top of the cap to rub detergent deep into the fibres of stained clothing. It works for even the toughest, most set-in stains and that means that I can keep my boys’ clothes looking their best until the next growth spurt.

Take Dad On A Trip Down Memory Lane this Father’s Day with OxiClean

June 17, 2015 by Kathryn 23 Comments

I’ve always had a hard time shopping for my dad. He never requests a specific gift and being over eighty, he seems to have everything he wants already. To top it off, his reaction to any gift is pretty mellow so even when I’m sure I’ve found something that he’ll love, it’s hard to know whether he really liked my choice or not! That’s why this year, instead of buying something new, I’ll be taking a tip from Church & Dwight and sticking to something I know my dad will love. By sprucing up his most prized possessions to make them as good as new, I can be sure he’ll have a happy Father’s Day!

Wondering how to make that happen? Try refreshing dad’s favourite things from the good ol’ days. This means restoring his lucky baseball cap or the colours on his old sports team jersey to bring him back to that championship game. Or try cleaning up his favourite childhood toy and let the memories pour in.

Share Your Best Stain Removal Tips on the Resolve Tip Exchange for a Chance at $5000 #ResolveTip

August 22, 2013 by Kathryn 6 Comments

If there’s one thing that I can count on as a mom of two young boys, it’s washing plenty of laundry. And most of the time, that laundry is incredibly dirty or covered in stains. Now I have to admit, when my boys were younger, I didn’t worry about stained clothing all that much. Things like “pre-treating” and “dry-clean only” were almost foreign concepts to a mid-twenties mother that had only had to wash her own clothes before. Until one day, and one stain, changed the way I looked at laundry forever.

I had taken Zackary to the library for preschool story time. He was just a toddler and the craft that particular day was finger-painting. Of course, it was also the day I had decided to wear my favourite white Capri pants. As my excited son finished his finger-painting, he turned, grabbed my pants with a paint-covered hand and said, “Look Mom! It’s a rainbow!”

The left thigh of my pants was covered in a beautiful red, yellow and blue abstract design, but I didn’t panic. “Oh well!” I said to myself. “It’s washable paint!” With that comforting thought in my head, I calmly praised my son, took him home, hung up his picture and tossed my pants into the laundry basket…where they sat for the next week.
